Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Swatches, Review + EOTD

October 21, 2014

For a company that is so good with color Urban Decay really knows how to make a beautiful palette of nudes. The nude eye shadows that are continually released by Urban Decay are so good that even though some of the shades may appear to be similar to those that aren’t makeup junkies (don’t worry, we’re not here to judge), we all still keep buying them. Because how could we possibly do without all the nakeds?!

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Review Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 shades

The most recent is the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette. Naked Basics the original continues to be one of my go-to eye shadow palettes for my every day makeup looks (it has DIPS in the shadows… there aren’t many eye shadows I can say that about, let alone an entire palette), therefore it’s a no-brainer that the second palette needed to be mine.

There are six eye shadows in this palette: Skimp, Stark, Frisk, Cover, Primal and Undone. All very neutral, a little lighter and also cooler toned than the original. The shades were nice to work with and worked well for that nude eye look. Being that these are so taupe based I thought I’d like this more than the original, but I think if I had to choose I would take home Naked Basics 1 first.

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Swatches

In the eye look below I have Urban Decay Primer Potion down as my base, Frisk all over the lid, Cover in the crease – blended up- and Undone in the outer V. Skimp is used at the inner corners, to blend out the crease color and as the highlight. The liner is Urban Decay Hustle 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil and the mascara is Urban Decay Perversion.

Have you or will you be picking up Naked Basics 2? Do you like the first or the second better? Tell me everything in the comments below!

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 retails for $29.00 and is available at Sephora, Nordstrom, Ulta and urbandecay.com.

I’ve now used several of my UD Basics 1 palette up and the rest show heavy use so I’m depotting them into a Unii palette to go with my old anniversary palette but I think even if I bought UD Basics 2…I would be buying UD 1 again at the same time!

This palette is on my wishlist for sure. I love the original Naked Basics palette so this is a must-have! I think I’ll like this one even better than the first just because the colors aren’t as dark!
