Just because the colder seasons are approaching (or, if you live in my neck of the woods, are seemingly already here) doesn’t mean you should skimp on the SPF! AND you need to be more diligent than ever with your skin care (hello, dryness) and coverage. Let’s just kill three birds with one stone (not literally), shall we. NARS has just released a new face product that not only gives you a versatile amount of coverage but also provides an SPF of 24 that lasts up to 12 hours and some skincare necessities with a blend of 17 amino acids, Vitamin C derivative and Marine Fennel (which promotes cell renewal and helps reduce the look of hyper-pigmentation and wrinkles). Oh, and that’s in addition to NARS exclusive Light Reflecting Complex™ that optimizes light reflection to enhance skin’s translucency. What is this magical face product? The NARS All Day Luminous Powder Foundation.
Available in 15 shades (mine is Deauville, swatched below) the NARS All Day Luminous Powder Foundation applies smoothly and feels very light. This doesn’t have a heavy coverage, but it works perfectly for me when I apply it over-top of my liquid foundation. The coverage is buildable and can be used wet or dry, but because I have some leftover marks on my face from past hormonal acne (fading slowly but surely) I like to apply an actual liquid foundation first.
I love that this powder foundation can act as my powder and also as my setting powder. I’m a huge fan of the NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder and the All Day Luminous Foundation has the same Light Reflecting Technology. Sometimes it’s nice to skip that extra step but know that your imperfections are still being blurred!

I was going to order this online, but didn’t know what my color would be and the sephora near me has never matched my foundation correctly so I don’t trust them to do it

Sephora is so hit or miss with their employees knowing what they’re doing. Near the holiday season it gets even worse =( You’d probably be one lighter than me, if I had to guess.

I’ve recently discovered that I like powder foundations, but I don’t think I’d enjoy putting it over a liquid, so it would have to work with just a primer.

I probably wouldn’t use it for foundation either, but for setting powder it sounds awesome!

Great review! You pushed all my buttons. I definitely will try this out at Sephora, if possible, to see if it would be enough on its own without a liquid foundation.
