When you’re busy it’s important to have neutral, multi-tasking products on hand. In my opinion, we can never have enough of these. Even though my looks might be more neutral than not, I still crave the variety! NUDESTIX is the latest brand to hit Sephora and Bloomingdale’s that has multi-tasking pencil products for those of us that are busy, busy!
Let’s start with the packaging. Each pencil is housed in a rectangular black tin with rounded edges. As you open the tin there is a folded paper telling you all about the product, how to use it and recommendations for other items. On the underside of the lid there is also a full size mirror.
I have three products to share with you today, a sampling of the full line, in Whisper Lip + Cheek Pencil, Twilight Magnetic Eye Color Pencil and Shimmer Eye Pencil.
Whisper Lip + Cheek Pencil ($24.00). This color is described simply as nude. It shows up rather grey toned on my lips (even though on the swatch it looks pink), so I personally wouldn’t wear it alone without a shimmering pink gloss over-top to balance it out. The formula is opaque and not drying at all. It’s got a bit of a stick that isn’t so much apparent on the lips as it is for the cheeks. Surprisingly that doesn’t make it hard to blend out using a tapping motion with your fingers. While it needs a little love to look good on my lips the shade is perfect all by itself on my cheeks. This is available in eight shades
Twilight Magnetic Eye Color Pencil ($24.00). This color is described as bronze. Twilight is gorgeous as a lid color or even as a liner that smudges out and blends nicely. Though this is touted as having 24-hr wear I found that this creased rather quickly when worn alone so I do recommend wearing a secondary primer underneath. (Note, my lids are on the oily side). When you do that it does last the day. This is available in eight shades.
Shimmer Eye Pencil ($24.00). This color is a shimmering champagne ivory. This was another one that needs another primer underneath to stick around. It’s perfect for lining the eyes, highlighting or as a shadow. This touts a smudger on the opposite side of the pencil and is available in eight shades.
Each pencil comes with an attached sharpener so that your point always remains fresh and precise.
I found these pencils to be wonderful for travel and perfect for my everyday lifestyle. I would personally love to try more from this brand, especially the Lip + Cheek Pencils but I do wish the eye products were more crease-resistant on their own. Especially since competing products from other brands are slightly cheaper and don’t require a secondary primer.
Have you tried NUDESTIX? What do you think of the products?
