The MAC Cosmetics A Novel Romance Collection was a big one, broken down into three parts – Colour, Nails and today’s post on the Eyes. The Eyes section contains seven Fluidline Eye Pencils and eight Electric Cool Eye Shadows.
If the Electric Cool Eye Shadows seem familiar then I know you’re a MAC fan from at least two years ago when they first released. The shade selection was broader and the price a bit cheaper ($18.50 then vs $21.00 now) but they have re-released a few of the shades. In this post I have Blacklit (black with multidimensional pearl, frost), Pure Flash! (pale champagne, frost) and Highly Charged (rich purple with pink pearl, frost). Like before these wear well and when used with a primer they last all day. You can layer then up for more intensity. For more info the formula check out my original post.
The Fluidline Eye Pencils ($16.00) are new to the brand and since the potted Fluidlines are a huge fave of many I imagine people are going to be all over these ones. These wear really well on the top lid but didn’t last so well for me on the bottom, forget about trying to waterline (very faint and disappears after about 10 min). I had high hopes, too, because with the Fluidline in the pot I can get a decent waterline going that will last. You can still use these on the lower lid area, but I personally need to smudge into them with an eye shadow.
Below the products are all swatched dry with no primer:
In the eye look below I kept it pretty simple and began with an eye primer (UDPP) then just did a layer of Pure Flash! from lid to brow. Next I made a thick line of Highly Charged at the top lash line and then lined my eyes with the Metropolis Fluidline Eye Pencil. I dabbed a bit of Highly Charged under the lower lash line to finish up the look and popped on one coat of Milani Total Lash Cover Mascara.
What do you think of the Electric Cool Eye Shadows and Fluidline Eye Pencils? Yay or nay?
Products from the MAC A Novel Romance Collection are available at Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Dillard’s and maccosmetics.com.
