3 Steps to Charlie Brown Halloween Nail Art feat. OPI x Peanuts!

August 28, 2014

Press Sample

For Halloween 2014 OPI is channeling Peanuts aka Charlie Brown with four nail polish shades inspired by “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”! I have all four shades here to share with you today – two creams & two glitters – and I incorporated them into some Peanuts-esque nail art!

OPI Peanuts Nail Polish Swatches Review

The four shades in this collection are Good Grief! (The sunny yellow of Charlie Brown’s favorite t-shirt), Where’s My Blanket??? (Linus awaits the Great Pumpkin in this orange and black glitter), WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!? (This stormy black is no match for Lucy’s raven hair) and To Be or Not to Beagle (Snoopy’s happy-dance of colors in a joyful glitter).

OPI Peanuts Nail Polish Nail Art

To get the extremely simple look above prep your nails with your base coat of choice and follow these three simple steps:

  1. Paint 2 coats of Good Grief! on each nail allowing it to dry completely.
  2. Paint 1 coat of To Be or Not to Beagle on the pinky, middle and pointer fingers. Paint 1 coat of Where’s My Blanket on the thumb and ring fingers allowing all nails to dry completely.
  3. Grab either your chevron shaped nail vinyls or make your own by cutting tape (not fun) and place on just below the center of the thumb and ring fingers. Below the chevron line add one coat of Who Are You Calling Bossy?!?. Remove the vinyl/sticker immediately. Allow that black to really dry before adding your top coat.

Peanuts nail lacquer shades each feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application. Peanuts nail lacquers will retail for $9.50 ($11.50 CAN) each; Little Peanuts mini pack will retail for $13.95 ($17.50 CAN).

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is one of my all-time fave holiday specials. Waiting for the reveal of this collection has me feeling a bit like Sally, though, realizing she missed Halloween to sit around in a pumpkin patch. Two meh glitters, a black creme and a watery yellow? OPI, is this the sincerest collection you could come up with?!

This one is pretty good, two coats and it’ll do ya. This year has brought about some pretty great yellows.

I was really disappointed by the collection. I though there would be a few more fun shades in it.

Halloween is usually pretty small and basic since Fall and Holiday are so big. I’m obsessed with all things Charlie Brown, all the way back to the olden days *LMBO*
