Just because August is winding down and Labor Day is right around the corner doesn’t mean that summer beauty has to stop. Wearing a Sultry Summer Look and shying away from bold, neon additions has not closed down for the year (even though the pools here on the East Coast are about to)! For this post I’m going to show you how to get a really easy, sultry summer eye look with a hit of blue using the most travel friendly tools (or one tool with several attachments) on Earth.
First let’s talk about the products I’ll be using for this look, so you don’t get lost as you read through the steps. To purchase these products I went to my local Walgreens and walked around picking up items I wanted to try in shades that stood out. Makeup wise I picked up the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Eye Shadow in Treasured Bronze and the L’Oreal Paris Silkissime Eyeliner in Bleu Cobalt. For a mascara I had to try out the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin’ Curves. Look at that brush!!!
As I was there wandering I noticed the Studio 35 Beauty makeup brushes and saw an adorable little set with interchangeable brush heads. This is a beauty mavens answer to the tool-mans perfect screwdriver. They are easy to switch and the heads are magnetic so they’re not flopping around and falling off as you use them. They’re small enough to keep in your makeup bag and I need to buy at least three more sets (it was less than $4 for the entire set!).
Below are swatches of the L’Oreal products that I used for this look. They are swatched dry on bare skin. I did use a primer for the eye look.
For the eye look below prep your eyes with the eye shadow primer of your choice and follow the steps.
To get the look above, follow the steps below!
- Take the shading brush and apply the copper color of the L’Oreal palette to the inner third of the eye.
- Take the concealer brush and apply the bronze shade of the L’Oreal palette to the rest of the eye lid.
- Using the pointed lining brush apply the chocolate metallic shade of the L’Oreal palette to the outer V and the crease.
- With the flat lining brush take a bit of the shimmering ivory shade of the L’Oreal palette and put it at the inner corners of the eye as well as under the brow to highlight.
- Grab a fluffy brush of your choice and lightly blend out your look.
- Pick a bold eyeliner that is waterline friendly. For this look I used the L’Oreal Silkissime Eyeliner in Bleu Cobalt.
- Under the outer third of the lower lash liner use the flat lining brush again to add a bit of the copper shade from the L’Oreal palette.
- Since there is no top eye liner in this look pick a mascara that is volumizing. I used two coats of Rimmel ScandalEyes Rockin’ Curves.
- Check your work. Oh, hai eye ball!
- When you’re all finished fill in your brows with the product of your choice and brush them up with the spoolie brush.
How do you amp up a neutral eye look?
