The latest foundation from bareMinerals is the bareSkin® Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 and it’s available in 20 shades. The shade used below for testing/swatching purposes is Bare Shell 02. In regards to the shade I didn’t really feel it matched me so well, I was between that one and the next shade up, but a Sephora employee convinced me this one was better. After wearing it I wish I’d have gone with my gut… live and learn!
Starting off with the foundation – I love the packaging and the way it’s dispensed, just be sure to shake it well before you squeeze out the product. I found the consistency of the formula to be on the watery side and very thin. It definitely did not provide the coverage that I look for (and absolutely require) in a foundation. Unfortunately, and I know a lot of you guys love this one, it just didn’t do it for me. No coverage at all and I became almost immediately shiny. When I tried to apply more product, even after waiting a few minutes, my face looked streaky. No bueno.
The bareSkin® Perfecting Face Brush is very different from the other foundation brushes out there. It has a small head with a circular well in the middle where you can place a two drops (sheer coverage) or more (for more coverage) of foundation in to buff onto your entire face. I usually use a larger, flat kabuki for this type of work, so I was more than a little skeptical on the brush. I wasn’t a fan of the foundation with this brush, though I wasn’t a fan of the foundation with ANY brush. However, using my usual foundations from IT Cosmetics I was really enjoying how it applied to my face. The brush is definitely a keeper!

That brush looks a lot like my SK flat top with a divot in the center 🙂
