This month Birchbox has teamed up with Women’s Health for a theme of Power Up! All of the items inside this month’s box are perfect for boosting and energizing your beauty routine.
As you open the box the card resting on top gives you a little explanation and greeting on one side and a run down of what is in your box on the other side.
Let’s see what’s going on for July!
From Beauty Protector, Protect & Treat Mask. This mask is for your hair and it smells so.flipping.fantastic. If cookies and candy and Willy Wonka had a hair baby, this would be it. It’s awesome to give hair shine and can be left on for 20 minutes. I put it all over my hair from mid-to-ends and then put it up, soaking in the tub. I quickly rinsed it off when I was done and my hair felt awesome and smelled amazing.
From Naobay, Body Radiance Lotion. This lotion smells good and is really softening to the skin. The sample size was perfect for travel, so I’ll get use from it in that respect. Other than that I can’t speak to anything special.
From Real Chemistry, Luminous 3-minute Peel. Luminous in 3 minutes… that’s a heavy claim. I actually do feel like it’s doing it’s job, though. I’ve only tried this one time but my skin was left feeling silky smooth. I wish it were a bigger size so that I could really give it a test, but for now I can say that for my first try I was definitely impressed and would absolutely try it again.
From Cynthia Rowley Beauty, Creamy Lip Stain in Sugar. Sugar is a pinky mauve and is exactly what I’d choose for myself if given the opportunity. It just provides a slight hint of a stain on the lips but doesn’t feel drying. It was slick to apply and felt decent to wear. I was really impressed with the finish, though I do wish it’d have lasted longer.
As a Beauty Extra Birchbox also sent Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. I adore these so much. They’re refreshing and I feel really make a difference in the evil that is going on with my under-eye area. While the effect was fleeting (by the end of the day I looked tired again, but that’s expected) I noticed the improvement after use. Perhaps a more frequent use of these eye gels will give a more long-lasting result.
Also, you not only get a booklet or 12 bite-sized challenges (shown below and described in better detail in the video below) but there is also a card for a one year subscription to Women’s Health Magazine! Check out my unboxing video below to get a few of my first impressions of this months products.

I really like that gloss! Beautiful!
That lippie looks so natural and pretty on you! I’m also interested in the Luminous peel :).

Having those little challenges added to the box is a cute idea… Pushups are nowhere in my future, though. Haha. Also I really like the shade of that lip stain!

I hate skincare heavy boxes. I really don’t like skincare in beauty boxes at all.

I can’t wait to try get one, it looks really fun to go through! I really like your reviews too – very honest and entertaining to read. Do you have one of Vain Pursuits? I’ve started to hear a lot about them and thought it’d be great to have more info!
Thank you! You’ve totally made my day! xoxo I haven’t tried Vain Pursuits, unfortunately my skin can be really temperamental and skincare can be SO time consuming to test. I rarely take on the product unless I know it’s a brand that usually works well with my skin. I checked to see if My Subscription Addiction has reviewed them and I don’t even see them on there =( I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help!
