June 2014 Birchbox Swatches, Review & Photos

July 5, 2014

This month the theme for Birchbox is Away We Go! Which is appropriate, since in June they also kicked off their partnership with JetBlue in which they’ve created exclusive amenity kits for the airlines new “Mint Experience”. This months samples are perfect for luxury and travel!

As you open the box the card resting on top gives you a little explanation and greeting on one side and a run down of what is in your box on the other side.

Let’s see what’s going on for May!

June 2014 Birchbox Review

June 2014 Birchbox Swatches Review

From Liz Earle, Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit. It is so luxurious feeling to put a hot cloth on your face, especially when the cleanser is infused with rosemary, chamomile, coco butter and eucalyptus essential oil. The size that was sent is a little under a third of the full-size bottle and I’ll easily get 2 weeks worth of use out of it. I love to do this in the tub and then after I wipe the cleanser off with the included muslin cloth I rinse it again in hot water and place it over my face. Instant relaxation. If this doesn’t make me break out I’ll be buying the full-size for sure. Which, btw, was surprisingly affordable. The cost of the full-size is $24.50 and I was expecting to see at least double that.

From Davines, Love Soothing Shampoo, Conditioner and Ol All in One Milk. When I first looked at that title on the card I got super excited… like HOW did they manage to get Shampoo and Conditioner in an all-in-one?! They didn’t I got played. It’s three separate products but they’re all equally amazing. When used together this trio kicks lame, frizzy hair in the tuckus so you can have that luxurious celeb hair that is always sought after.

From Harvey Prince, Hello. I received this fragrance in the May Beauty Box 5 and I wasn’t a fan. Click over for the full review.

From The Aloe Source, Vitamin C Antioxidant Creme. This uses Vitamin C and aloe to fight fine lines and wrinkles. The cream is thick but sinks in quickly leaving soft skin and a hint of the vitamin C (citrusy) scent behind. I did really like this but I probably wouldn’t buy a full size since I’m already happy with the skincare regime that I’m currently using.

From LAQA & Co., Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in Bees Knees. This color is perfection! Peachy, juicy good-ness! I love how glossy my lips look when I wear it and the minty smell is so yummy, like I smeared a peach colored candy cane on my lips! Below I’m wearing it alone on my lips and also swatched on my arm. LOVE!

As a fun little extra Birchbox also sent a little booklet with a quiz inside in which you can win a travel certificate from JetBlue! I’m on it! I needs to see the world, you guys!

I was happy with this months shipment. Birchbox has been wonderful these last few months and I’m happy I stuck it out. I do believe it was worth $10 and it was a nice mix of makeup, hair, fragrance and skin care. I’m definitely looking forward to next months shipment!

Wanna sign up for Birchbox?  (Click for referral) If you like what you see in this post go to the website and fill out the form.  It’s just $10 a month (free shipping too!) and you get some cool stuff, tho I will warn you, you’re going to get stuff you hate as well.

***Disclosure – I buy my own Birchbox, but the links posted here do give me referral points which I can use towards product on the site.  Once you sign up for your own Birchbox, you’ll also get a referral code to send out to others and get some points of your own!

My Birchbox was similar but I got a sheer purple lipstick by LAQA & Co, and I got the same shampoo and conditioner set. I really like the color of the lipstick they sent you. This was my first Birchbox so I hope I am as happy with mine as you have been with yours the past few months. I have heard mixed reviews on them so I am trying them out for myself to form my own opinion. It is such fun getting a monthly package in the mail with beauty, bath, and body products! I like the surprise of not knowing what will be inside and the fun of opening the box and discovering the goodies within. For only $10 too. I think that is quite reasonable.

It’s definitely been good lately. There were a few months there that it was junk… back in the beginning, when it all first started, they were really phenomenal. I’d love to see them get back to that once in awhile (like Baublebar bracelets! It was incredible!).
