OPI MLB Collection 4th of July Nail Art

July 4, 2014

Press Sample

Happy Independence Day! 4th of July! I feel like I did so many 4th of July inspired manicures this year, nail art, if you will, so if you’re still scrambling around for something to do with your nails maybe you can grab some inspiration here!

As a feature collection for this post I decided to use the MLB Collection by OPI. This collection contains 7 shades of nail polish all inspired by Major League Baseball. While this collection is limited edition you still may be able to find them floating around and if not you can grab just about any red, white, blue or orange(!) are create the looks below.

OPI MLB Collection Swatches ReviewSince I wanted to figure out how to incorporate that gorgeous orange shade in, I decided to do an eccentric look for my first baseball loving Fouth of July Celebrating mani.

OPI Right Off the Bat is used as the base for the pointer and pinky fingers. OPI Short-Stop! is painted in a half circle shape at the outer part of one side of the nail. I used rhinestone embellishments to have it symbolize the shape of a baseball. OPI Orange You Going to the Game? is the base for the ring finger and thumb. After the base dried I applied star stencils and painted inside of them with OPI Umpires Come Out at Night. For the final nail, the middle, I used one coat of OPI Girls Love Diamonds. Once that dried I lined it with striping tape and alternated shades of OPI Orange You Going to the Game, OPI Short-Stop! and OPI 7th Inning Strrretch.

OPI MLB Collection Nail Art…and because sometimes the more simple route is the best – behold stars of OPI Girls Love Diamonds and OPI 7th Inning Strrretch over OPI Love Athletes in Cleats. I used cutouts of stars to paint on (over?) but next time I’ll just buy the star stickers… much easier!!

OPI MLB Nail Polish Collection SwatchesHere are a few other places you can find my Independence Day Nail Art:

  • I was published on POPSUGAR Beauty! I’m a member of the POPSUGARSelect Blogger Program which gives us the opportunity to submit work to POPSUGAR to potentially get it published! I’m so excited for this. I used all nail polishes by Cult Nails and a pin (not like a Pinterest pin, but like a pin that you would sew with). That’s all it takes to get FIREWORKS on your fingers!
  • The June GlossyBox came with holiday appropriate nail polishes to help create your nail art for the fourth! Check out what I came up with using the red and blue shades from Strange Beautiful.
  • Know that a cool splatter mani doesn’t have to be a mess – check out this #nailhack that you can use for your 4th of July Nail Art!

Have a happy & safe 4th! Tell me what’s on your nails in the comments below!
