The theme for the April 2014 ipsy Glam Bag is Beauty Rocks!. This month’s bag can easily turn you into a rocker chick with smooth skin thanks to the perfect black eye liner and some serious microdermabrasion!

ipsy April 2014 Beauty RocksAbove is the bag that houses the goods. A rocking indigo with a turn-table that let’s you know that Beauty Rocks! Also included with your shipment is a card listing all of the awesome deals you can get by visiting the Glam Room on ipsy.com.

What’s inside?

ipsy April 2014 Glam Bag Swatches ReviewFrom Sexy Hair, Root Pump Volumizing Spray Mousse. Just a small bit of this product in my roots really makes all the difference. I definitely love to use this for days when my hair is up or down to amp up my look and make it seem like my style took extra time, when really it was quick and simple. Be sure you don’t apply too much or it’ll be crunchy!

From  dr. brandt®, microdermabrasion. I think my skin may be too sensitive for this. It’s a little abrasive so I only used it once, however the lemony scent is phenomenal and it did make my skin feel super soft. I get nervous about this type of skin care so I’ll stick with my Kate Somerville ExfoliKate.

From  Mary Kay At Play™, Jelly Lip Gloss. I love the shade (I got Teddy Bare), I love the name…. but not so in love with the gloss. It’s super sticky. Too sticky. Not a fan. (swatched below).

From Elizabeth Mott, pop! goes the shadow. The shade I received is Champagne and it pairs so well with the liner that came in this bag as well as the theme. The formula is smooth and pigmented, applying easily and lasting all day over a primer.

From Urban Decay, 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil. The shade is Black Velvet an I’m obsessed. It’s more smoky of a black than Zero and not as in your face as Perversion. I love the finish and the formula is smooth, lasting… just phenomenal!

ipsy April 2014 glam bag swatchesThis was another great month for ipsy. I am really excited to get the new Urban Decay liner and the shadow is the perfect shade to pair it with. The contents of this bag was definitely worth the $10 (and more!) so I am absolutely in for May.

Ipsy does profile pages now, so here is mine. There is also a pretty amazing referral program in place. You refer friends and redeem points to get a sweet little bonus in your next bag. I’ve gotten some really fab full sized products as my bonuses, but, something new, you can use your points to choose your own bonus! I cashed in back in November for a full size NYX Cosmetics Bronze Smokey Look Kit (see photos and swatches here).

Here is where you can go to subscribe to ipsy for a Glam Bag.

What do you think about the April Glam Bag? Are you going to subscribe for May? I know I’m looking forward to my next bag!

Love this bag, though I’m from the UK so not heard of it. Some fab products in there too. I’ve just done a comparison of two month boxes we have in the UK, and was really surprised by the results. Great review!

Your bag is so much better than mine! Lol. Mine came with a bizarre POWDERY product that says “tinted lip balm” on the container, and an extremely oily eyeshadow mousse, lol.

I actually liked the Mary Kay at Plat gloss. I squeeze it out onto my hand and then apply with a finger. No stickiness! It’s so odd!

My bag was slightly different – I got the Cailyn gloss instead, which I really like. I also didn’t get the hairspray, but the jasmine perfume oil instead. Great bag! Love Ipsy!

Thanks for the review. Those are very interesting pieces. I’m quite surprised to see Mary Kay joining in on this. Too bad that the gloss was all sticky. Definitely a no-go in my books.
