Makeup Wars – Favorite Blushes for Spring & Summer feat. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

April 14, 2014

When Sephora announced the pre-launch of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes to the VIB’s I wasn’t sure what to think. I knew I loved the Ambient Lighting Powder, but how different could the blushes be? It was hard to decide if I wanted to try them out when there were no reviews and no swatches. After some thought I ordered one, Luminous Flush, and waited. When it arrived I fell in love. Hard. So hard that I knew I needed all of the others. So during a sale I took the plunge and ordered the other five blushes.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Swatches ReviewSince this week for Makeup Wars we’re focusing on our favorite blushes for the Spring and Summer season I thought it’d be a perfect time to swatch and show off all six of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes together.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes Review

  • Mood Exposure (soft plum)
  • Luminous Flush (champagne rose)
  • Radiant Magenta (golden fuchsia)
  • Ethereal Glow (cool pink)
  • Diffused Heat (vibrant poppy)
  • Dim Infusion (subdued coral)

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Swatches

My favorite thing about these blushes is that they truly make the face come alive and glow without becoming the disco-ball-glitter-bomb-of-death. They wear and blend well and the pigment is completely perfect, almost impossible to over-do. The finish ends up being luminous, soft and natural. With just one touch you know it’s a high quality product that you’ll have to repurchase over and over again.

On a related note did you guys hear that the previously limited edition Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is coming back? I’m SO excited! I missed out the first time so this time I will definitely be sure to get my hands on one!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush retails for $35.00 and is available at Sephora.

Your pictures are droolworthy. I’ve been back and forth on these and should have ordered one during the Sephora sale. If I can ever go to a mall again I’m sure I’ll walk out with at least one.

I have Diffused Heat… people say it’s so close to Luminous Flush… but Luminous Flush is SOOOO pretty! Do I need it, or should I get Ethereal Glow instead?

I’d say Diffused Heat is probably closer to Radiant Magenta, but it’s definitely similar (but deeper) to Luminous Flush. I use Ethereal Glow as a highlight shade. I think we’re around the same skin tone so idk if you’d like it for just a blush.

I hemmed and hawed about buying any of these Hourglass powders or blushes. Finally pulled the trigger on a couple powders, and the next day found out that the palette was being re-released! lol. Luckily, I didn’t buy the powders that were in it, so I can still get it. I’m stalking Sephora.
