Nicole by OPI has added 15 brand new nail polish shades to their core line for 2014. Check out the swatches and let me know what your faves are in the comments!
Yoga-Then-Yogurt is a bright white cream. The formula was pretty streaky and uneven. I wasn’t too pleased with this shade. I had to use three coats to get it even, but it does remind me of yogurt covered raisins.
Sweet Surrender is a sheer pearl cream with a slight grey tinge. It took a bit to get full coverage but the shade is calming to me, and I’m actually loving it! Three coats.
That’s Putting it Mild is a greige cream. IDK why but this makes me think of plaster. It’s not bad of a shade but I think when worn alone it sort of washed me out. Three coats.
At Least I Pink So is a light barbie pink cream, which is always okay in my book. It’s not too overboard pink and also not too pastel. Two coats.
I’ll Have the Salmon is a sheer, light peach cream. The formula is super thin and runny. It’s almost out of control, which is a shame because this shade is gorgeous. Three coats.
I Shop Mintage is exactly what you think – a mint cream. Totally yummy and completely perfect for Spring! Two coats.
Teal Me Something New is more of a deep turquoise cream. The shade and formula are wonderful and worth owning if you’re without something similar. Two coats.
Be Awesome has a clear base with rainbow diamond shaped glitter. Love the glitter shades and shape, so beautiful. That’s about it.. this polish is a big PITA and I’m so sad about that. The base is thick/heavy making it hard to pick up and place glitter. Below is “one coat” over Teal Me Something New… and I use the phrase one coat lightly… as it was more just me dabbing, swearing and maneuvering.
Taupe of My Class is a dark grey cream with a tint of khaki. In the bottle it just looks straight grey, so this was a pleasant surprise on the nail! Two coats.
Always a Flirt! is a reddened fuchsia shimmer. The formula on this is awesome, it painted on like glass and was so smoooooooth! It’s a little on the sheer side, so three coats were used below.
Something About Spring is a mid-tone cool pink cream. This polish had a nice formula and was lovely. Definitely consider if you don’t happen to have something similar. Two coats.
Fabulous is My Middle Name has a clear base with small silver glitter and a lot of pink, red and silver bar glitter. The bar glitter seems like it collects where you first swipe the polish on the nail, so it helps to spread it out quickly as soon as you apply. I may be alone, but I’m still loving bar glitter! One coat shown over Something About Spring.
Oh That’s Just Grape is a violet cream. Formula and application were top notch. Normally I’m not too ga-ga for this shade of purple but this one gets to me! Two coats.
Emerald Empowered is a teal duochrome. The duochrome is very slight and you can see it better in the pic with the shade. The pic at the top with the flash just makes it look like a metallic teal. Two coats.
This Blue is So You! is a midnight navy blue cream. The formula was nice and easy to work with, I thought it was going to be a one coater but in the end I used two for the photo.
While most of these shades were pretty dupeable you might still be able to find a few that’ll suit your fancy and find a home in your collection! My faves are Sweet Surrender, At Least I Pink So, I Shop Mintage, Teal Me Something New, Taupe of My Class, Always a Flirt and Oh That’s Just Grape.
