The theme for the February 2014 Beauty Box 5 is Birthday Bash!
For 2 years Beauty Box 5 has been introducing you to new beauty items and reigniting the love of your old favorites. Happy Birthday BB5 & here’s to many more years!
From John Frieda, Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Shampoo & Conditioner. I’m all for stuff like this when they come in a set, so for that, I totally thank you BB5! I save these packets or sample bottles for travel. Perfect.
From Elizabeth Mott, It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara. I loved the brush on this one, and I thought it added nice length. I wouldn’t call it a volumizing mascara, but it’s a decent every day one.
From Rock Star Nails, Nail Sprinkles & Nail Polish. The positives. The robins egg blue color is gorgeous and I’m in love with the caviar effect. The bottles are adorable (we all know I’m a sucker for bows!). It only took two coats to achieve full coverage on the blue polish. Now. The blue polish smells just like paint. The kind that when you put it on your walls you have to open every window in the house because of the fumes. WAY strong. The caviar is awesome, but so messy. My OCD cried when I opened the bottle and little beads exploded out. I’d definitely wear it again, just over a different base shade and I’d open over my sink lol. (I did dump over my sink, but I opened the bottle over my desk to check it out and the beads made a break for it!).
From Every Beauty, Makeup Remover Pads w/ Argan Oil Extract. These are pretty cool! You add some water to the pad and you can use both sides to remove your makeup. You don’t even need to rinse your face!!! I love to use this when I just have a bit of powder on, not with heavy makeup. But they feel pretty awesome.
Also included with this months shipment is a $10 off offer for use on mynamenecklace.com. I checked out the site and $10 off is nice, but I won’t use it because that type of necklace just really isn’t my style (sorry Carrie Bradshaw!).
I thought this box was a great mix of nail, makeup skin and hair care. I was super excited to try out the ever so interesting caviar nail look (messy as it was) and discover an awesome new product in the Every Beauty Makeup Remover Pads.. Based off of this box it’s clear that the service is worth the $12.00 price tag. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for March!

Looks like a great box! Love the blue polish, but I’m bad about small beads.. I keep picking at them!
I received the same box you did! Looking forward to trying everything, especially the nail polish 🙂

I love your photography! This box looks awesome too. Which do you like better, beautybox5 or Birchbox? I’m considering a switch.

Thank you! I like BB5 better for contents.
I got my box, too – instead of the makeup remover pads, I got a sample of Aveeno shower gel. Oddly enough, the card in my box showed different samples than what I (or you) got. It had hair ties and a detoxifying body butter from Amala. I wonder who got that instead of the shampoo samples?

That’s so bizarre! I got the shower gel before I loveeeee it. I went and bought a full size =)
Great post! The beauty box looks very neat, I might think about ordering it (:
You got a really good box! I first thought those polishes were Ciate, the packaging is a dead-ringer for Ciate polishes.
