Dior 761 MIRAGE Diorshow Fusion Mono Matte Eyeshadow Swatches, Review & EOTD – Trianon Spring 2014

January 10, 2014

The Dior Fusion Mono Eyeshadows are usually all sparkly, which is all well and good… unless you despise shimmer.  I personally don’t hate on shimmer in the least, however when I’m going for a quick look or something more demure I would rather have a matte.

For the Spring 2014 Trianon Collection Dior has answered our prayers with the launch of three Diorshow Fusion Mono Matte Eyeshadows in Nocturne, Fantaisie and today’s post of Mirage.

Dior 761 MIRAGE Diorshow Fusion Mono Matte Eyeshadow boxWhat Nordstrom says about Dior Fusion Mono Matte Eyeshadow:

Diorshow Fusion mono matte eyeshadow features a weightless, soft mousse texture designed to blend onto the eyelid, leaving nothing but ultra-matte color with a velvety effect behind.

Pro tip: Fusion mono matte eyeshadows can be applied two ways for soft or bold finishes. For a soft finish, apply with fingertips. The texture blends with your skin to create a light veil of color. For a bold finish, use an applicator to apply. The finish is intensified to reveal pure matte color.

The formula is mousse textured and creamy, setting easily to powder.  It sets quickly, but not so quick that you can’t blend the shadow as well as other shades into it.  I laid Mirage right down on my lid without a primer and I’m happy to report it lasted the entire day!  No creasing, no fading.  A win!

For the EOTD look below I began by applying Mirage all over the lid and up through the crease with a firm brush (MAC 239).  I applied Dior Mordore Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow in the crease and then used Chanel Beige Lame Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow to blend out the color and highlight.  The eye liner is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Muse with em cosmetics Waterliner in Ro’s Gold at the inner corners.  The mascara is CoverGirl Bombshell Volume (to be reviewed).

Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono Matte Eyeshadow retails for $30.00 and is available at Nordstrom and Sephora.

It seems like a swatching trip is in order.. love the finish, though I’m curious about how the pigmentation will show up on my skin. I imagine Mirage as being fantastic through the crease, outer corner or for a soft smoky all over shade.

This is so interesting. The original shadows were so sparkly that I am barely finding time to wear them. This is a nice change. I’d like to see it as a base too.

The lid is just the color =) No shadow over-top. I hope they do a whole line of mattes!

Hey Brooke, I like what you paired with this one! I think the texture someone makes everything on top look matte-r (I quickly tried Songe on. It’s the same thing), which is interesting!
