7 Holiday Gift Ideas for the People You Forgot

December 18, 2013

[button link=”#” target=”_blank” color=”default” shape=”rounded” size=”small”]Referral Links[/button]

Whoopsie!  It’s the eve of the holiday, birthday, special occasion and you forgot.  You forgot and you have zero minutes to get your head together and not only figure out what to buy, but also go and get the gift.  Then you have to wrap it.  Arghghhhh.

Good news.  Beauty and fashion subscription services are a-plenty and you have many to choose from.  Priced from $10 up to $389, these services will easily fit into your holiday gift list and budget…. for both women and men!

7-last-minute-gift-ideas

  1. GlossyBox.  At $21.00 a month GlossyBox is slightly more expensive, but the brands are both premier and niche.  GlossyBox is also available in 16 countries. My GlossyBox reviews.
  2. ipsy.  Created by Michelle Phan, ipsy is only $10 a month and consistently has an incredible selection of beauty items (mostly makeup).  They’ve also recently implemented a new referral program with a “choose your own gift” motif.  My ipsy reviews.
  3. i-Ella The List.  The List is a fashion service (with some beauty) which includes some of the most stunning items you’ll ever lay eyes on, all completely on trend.  This service has three different levels – Starter ($59.00), Soho ($129.00) and St. Barths ($389.00).  My i-Ella reviews.
  4. Little Black Bag.  Who hasn’t heard of Little Black Bag?  LBB is a great place to load up your closet for less.  The mostly fashion and a little beauty service offers such well-known brands as Betsey Johnson, Steve Madden, BCBGeneration and more!  Opening a bag can vary in price depending on the item and designer, but gift cards to the site can be bought for as little as $15.00 and up to $500.00.  My Little Black Bag reviews.
  5. Beauty Box 5.  BB5 starts at $12.00 a month for 5 cosmetic samples.  As of late, this service has really stepped up it’s game and become one of the best out there. You’ll also receive exclusive discounts from partner brands.  My Beauty Box 5 reviews.
  6. Birchbox.  While Birchbox may not be the best in terms of content (anymore) they still have the best rewards program, and is also available for men.  For each referral you get 50 points and for each review you get 10 points.  100 points = $10 in the Birchbox shop where they have a plethora of amazing items from countless brands (yes, you’ve heard of at least 90% of them).  This service is $10.00 a month.  With a 1-year women’s gift subscription, get a free Cynthia Rowley eyeliner ($18 value) with the code: cynthiarowleybeauty.  My Birchbox reviews.
  7. Wantable.  The Wantable subscription is $36.00 a month, highly customizable and you can choose from the Makeup, Accessories and Intimates boxes.  You can also earn credits – each point = $1.  You get 1 point for anyone who signs up and 10 points for anyone who places their order.  This is a great way to get introduced to brands such as Lise Watier, Billion Dollar Brows and more.  My Wantable reviews.

What is your biggest gift whoopsie?  I always forget someone.  In holidays past I’ve always kept a stockpile of candles (works for all events, though!).  My “just in case” cabinet gets a lot of use this time of year!  Thankfully if I’m gifting a subscription service they take care of the mailing and “details” while I just fill in the info and pay!

I’d have Target g.c. for gifts since I could easily use them if I didn’t need them. Before the days of Costco I’d buy these nice bags of nuts from a local fruit market to give just in case. They fit nicely in a gift bag too.
