With the MAC Holiday 2013 Collection three eye palettes were released within Stroke of Midnight – Cool, Smoky and today’s post of Warm.
I always have at least one or two favorites from the holiday palettes, and 9 times out of 10 it’ll be the Warm or Smoky kits. This is clearly one of those nine times.
What Nordstrom says about the MAC ‘Stroke of Midnight – Warm’ Eyeshadow Palette:
M·A·C rings in the New Year with the Stroke of Midnight collection, featuring a range of products for lips, face and eyes that celebrate the dreamy time between dusk and dawn. The Warm eyeshadow palette features a range of gorgeous, neutral hues formulated from highly pigmented powder that applies evenly while blending and building beautifully. The palette comes tucked in a limited-edition black compact and includes a double-ended 213 Fluff brush and 266 Small Angle brush.
The packaging is a shiny black plastic highlighted with gold and white. It’s very classy and understated… almost haute. The interior houses a mirror and a double-ended shadow/liner brush. I like the idea of the brush but it’s a little awkward to use because of the tiny size.
Warm Eyes houses five eye shadows in Femme Fi (frosty golden cream, veluxe pearl); Amber Lights (peachy-brown with shimmer, frost); Midnight Hour (warm blackened plum, velvet); Socialite (warm copper, satin) and Mulch (red-brown with bronze pearl, velvet).
As any MAC lover will tell you, this palette contains two permanent shades of eye shadow (Mulch & Amber Lights) and one repromote (Femme Fi). As far as I know or remember, Midnight Hour and Socialite are new (though for some reason I feel like I’ve seen Midnight Hour before… anyone know?).
That being said, if you don’t already own those shades, this is an excellent palette to pick up or add to your holiday wish list! All of the shades were lovely to work with, even the velvets. Mulch has been a favorite of mine since I started to use MAC many years ago. The shades were swatched above without a primer and it was easy to get good color payoff from all of them.
For the EOTD (after applying Urban Decay Primer Potion as a base) I placed Mulch on the lid and through the crease, Socialite in the crease and blended up, Femme Fi at the inner corners and to highlight and at the outer-V I used Midnight Hour. Amber Lights was placed along the outer portion of the lower lash line. For the liner I busted out an old favorite, MAC Graphic Brown Fluidline. The mascara is MAC Plushlash and MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash layered..
Which of the three eye kits (Warm, Cool or Smoky) is your fave?
The MAC Stroke of Midnight Nude Eye Kit retails for $39.50 and is available at your local MAC counter (Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s) or store as well as online at maccosmetics.com. This palette is limited edition.

I need this one. It is a perfect combo of warm shades, none of which I already own!! I love the packaging too, very retro 50s.
