em cosmetics has gone and taken over my brain. I can’t watch a YouTube video or read a blog post without wanting to purchase more and more. For example, the Waterliners. They’re garnering some serious attention in the blogosphere for being wonderful in every way imaginable. I looked at some swatches and decided I needed them all. Even with the 30% off code in this months ipsy bag it was a large chunk of change. THEN I saw that for $27.50 you could get a waterliner, lipstick and a life palette sampler. That is an AMAZING deal. Almost $20 off retail price! I’d been wanting to try out the lipsticks as well, so I thought it a bit smarter to test one of both products before I go all out and buy every single one of them.
If you want to take advantage of that deal, go for it! I don’t think the deal sticks around forever, so do it fast. No code is necessary. Just go to the website and add in a waterliner, lipstick and a life palette sampler (all your own choice!) and the discount will apply automatically.
After that extremely long into paragraph let’s get on to some cold weather goods! There are two editions of the Life Palette available this holiday season – Holiday Life: New Year’s Countdown and today’s post of Winter Life: Ice Bunny Edition. You don’t have to hit the slopes to look like an Ice Bunny (thank the blessed skies), so let’s see what shades Michelle Phan suggests we use to be casually frost kissed.
What em cosmetics says about the Winter Color Makeup Palette – Ice Bunny Edition:
inspired by the love of winter frost affairs, icicle kisses and bundling up to play in the snow!
experience a casual beauty look created with wintry mixes of blues, greys and a kiss of soft pinks!
I really love the box that this palette arrives in. It’s fun and festive, but not immature. You can flip open the top to see a blurb about the inspiration behind the palette and then below is a window that shows you the outer casing of the palette itself. To get the palette out, though, you’ll need to go in from the side.
Ice Bunny is filled with beautiful shades of taupes, grey, and silvery shadows topped off with sheer glosses in Parisian Nude and Dressed Up, as well as a peachy pink blush in Snuggle Up Peach. You get six eye shadows (Avalanche, a frosty beige; Snow Day!, a bronzey brown frost; Ice Bunny, a silver frost; Bundle Up, a taupe frost; Winter Chill, a grey satin and Black Pumps a black satin.
The blush isn’t shimmery but offers good pigment that is easily buildable. I found that with my skin tone I only needed to brush the color lightly over my cheeks once to get my desired shade. The glosses are in pink and nude. They’re incredibly moisturizing, but without pigment on the lips. I couldn’t tell the difference between the two when I wore them.
This is my first experience with the formula of the em eye shadows, and I must say… based off of this particular palette I’m very impressed. I found them all to be very easy to use with wonderful pigment. They were easy to layer and blend and when used over a primer there was absolutely no fading or creasing.
With the eye shadow shades that are in the smaller pots it was a little awkward to get my shadow brush in there, it was like there was just enough room. I’d personally like to see those a little bigger, especially in the shades I’ll use the most (like that gorgeous taupe!).
It does come with a brush, I found that the liner side of the brush was wonderful, whereas the shadow side was a little flimsy and didn’t do much for my eye look inn terms of application. If you’re going for a more sheer dusting of color, it’ll work for you.
I’m using the Ice Bunny Palette below within the entire look. The glosses are layered for the lips and the blush is used at the cheeks. For the eye look I took Bundle Up and applied it all over the lid and through the crease. Snow Day! is in the crease and blended up while Winter Chill was used to deepen the outer-V. Ice Bunny is at the inner corners and Avalanche was used to blend out the crease and highlight. The liner is the eye shadow in Black Pumps (top) Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Stray Dog (bottom) and the mascara is em michelle phan Lash Gallery Dramatic Volume Waterproof in Black.
I’m feeling like this line is becoming slightly addicting for me. What’s your fave product?
The em michelle phan Winter Life: Ice Bunny Edition retails for $29.00 and is available at emcosmetics.com.
I love the color combo but for the price I’ll skip

I’m obsessed with the Party Life Palette – especially the deep burgundy and metallics for this time of year. Love this palette for a simple, but sphisticated holiday look!

I can’t decide which one I want! It’s between Party and Beach!
This is such a pretty palette!!!!! A definite wish-lister.
I want this! I love the mix in colors…
I don’t know why I just can’t get into em cosmetics! The look you did is gorgeous but none of her products excite me!

Thank you! Have you tried any of them or are the photos and reviews just not doing it for you? It’s so hard to get excited when you can’t play with things in person. When Marc Jacobs beauty launched I didn’t order right away… I waited until I could play in store. Of course, I’m obsessed now lol
This palette is stunning!
