Last month I was semi-pleased with Birchbox, so I kept my subscription alive. TBH it’s like a relationship… you’ve been in it so long and that makes it hard to quit. They even gave me chocolate this month.
The theme for November is More Good. Makes sense, being that this is the month of Thanksgiving. For this month a portion of the proceeds from the Birchbox Shop will be going to No Kid Hungry, which is a nationwide organization that works to end childhood hunger.
As you open the box the card resting on top gives you a little explanation and greeting on one side and a run down of what is in your box on the other side.
Let’s see what’s going on for November!
From Aloxxi, ColourCare Volumizing & Strengthening Shampoo and also the Volumizing Conditioner. Let me just start this off by saying THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LISTENING! I have been whining every freaking month at multiple subscription boxes about getting just shampoo or just conditioner… which actually state on the back that for the best results use with the coordinating product. How can I accurately say if it works well if I can’t even follow the dang directions?! In any event, I’m so flipping happy right now that I have a set of bottles (not packets, yay!) full of product that smells amazing (think salon washed hair), paraben free and protects color and makes my hair look and feel awesome. Love you, definitely need the full sizes.
From Chella, the Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil. This pencil is pretty smooth and blends well. When it’s blended out it’s the exact shade of my skin and gives it a nice glow. It says that this pencil can be applied 10 different ways to highlight as well as hide. I think I’d personally love this the most at the brows to give a lift as well in the cupids bow. Since it blends so seamlessly it’ll be like nothing is there except fabulousness. There is also a shade in Latte available, which is a bit darker, but is only recommended towards medium skin tones.
From Color Club, Baldwin Blues Nail Polish. This shade is from the Harlem Lights Collection and actually appears a bit more of muted blue in person. The shade is not your average navy blue cream… there’s just something more about it. Only one coat was needed for full and even coverage but for the photo below I added another “just in case” coat. Fabulous formula!
As a Lifestyle Extra a Chocolate Covered Pretzel from Fatty Sundays was also included with this months goodies. Pretty dang decadent, and I wouldn’t mind getting these every month *hint hint*
This months Birchbox was decent. It’s hard to get super excited about it when ipsy is so wonderfully generous in what they give their subscribers every month for the same price. For this month I did feel like the Birchbox was worth the $10 but is clearly not as knock your socks off as ipsy.
In regards to continuing my subscription I’ll keep it going into next month. I seriously love to get mail. My mom will attest to that.
Wanna sign up for Birchbox? (Click for referral) If you like what you see go to the website and fill out the form. It’s just $10 a month (free shipping too!) and you get some cool stuff, tho I will warn you, you’re going to get stuff you hate as well.
***Disclosure – I buy my own Birchbox, but the links posted here do give me referral points which I can use towards product on the site. Once you sign up for your own Birchbox, you’ll also get a referral code to send out to others and get some points of your own!
Looks really nice! I like the highlighter pencil- looks like the perfect shade!
