Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder has become known as the stuff dreams are made of. At least in terms of a flawless face. Oh, you can’t have a flawless face? Pshhhh… at the very least you can use this finely milled powder to trick folk into thinking you can’t take a bad photo 😉
Six universally flattering shades are available, each working on a different effect for your face. I purchased Mood Light, which is meant for mimicing the softest, most forgiving light and brightens the complexion.
What Sephora says about Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder:
What it is:
A universal finishing powder that features state-of-the-art technology to recreate the most exquisitely flattering types of light. What it does:
Create your perfect light. Ambient Lighting Powder is a groundbreaking collection of finishing powders that capture, diffuse, and soften the way light reflects on your skin. Unlike traditional powders, which merely cloak imperfections, Ambient Lighting Powder utilizes photoluminescent technology to filter out harsh light and refine the appearance of the complexion. The powders deliver a multidimensional luminescence to every skintone, making it appear softer, younger, and lit-from-within. The finishing powders enhance skin in any type of light, including flash photography. With six universal shades available, you can create your desired effect—not unlike having a personal lighting technician. Ambient is free of talc, gluten, fragrance, and nanoparticles. It is available in six universally flattering shades from least pearl to most pearl.Ethereal Light: A sheer, cool tone that eliminates shine and mimics a moonlit glow—even in broad daylight.
Diffused Light: A soft, warm, pale yellow that reduces redness, eliminates shine, and gives skin clarity.
Dim Light: A neutral soft beige that provides a perfect balance of warm and cool tones to blur imperfections.
Mood Light: A soft, sheer lavender pink that mimics the softest, most forgiving light and brightens the complexion.
Luminous Light: A champagne pearl that creates a soft, incandescent candlelit glow—day or night.
Radiant Light: A sun-kissed golden beige that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth. What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– ParabensWhat else you need to know:
“I learned early on how different types of light can truly flatter the complexion. Growing up, my mother had pink light bulbs in all of the lamps throughout the house. She loved pink light because it was the softest and most flattering, and she always wanted to look good. I used this concept of lighting in Ambient Lighting Powder.”—Carisa Janes, Hourglass Founder
Mood Light is a soft, sheer lavender pink that I’m loving to pieces. When I first applied it I didn’t notice much, but once I saw a few pics that were taken of me on that first day I could really see the difference. My skin appeared flawless and glowy. It’s got a very soft shimmer that blurs imperfections, especially those fine lines that I swear are beginning to form under my eyes!
The formula is silky and the color luminescent. If you’re in the market for a soft, perfect face then you absolutely need this powder.
Have you tried the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder yet? Were you one of the lucky ones to score the Ambient Lighting Powder Palette from Sephora during the sale before it went out of stock? I’m so jealous if you were!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder retails for $45.00 and can be purchased at Sephora.
This looks like a must have product 🙂

With this one I dust it along my cheekbones very lightly. Just looking in the mirror it didn’t make much difference but you can really tell in the sunlight or in photos.
Really pretty!

I missed the palette during the Sephora sale but did order Mood Light. Then I found it on Barney’s website and ordered from there. Whew.
Lucky!
I didn’t score the Ambient Light Palette during the sale, but I did purchase it before the sale – therefore: be jealous! Haha, no, seriously, I’ve been wanting to try these powders for a while now I figured I would try them when I could get 3-in-1. 🙂 I’m wanting more though. 😛
