MAC Holiday launches are always big, showy and beautiful. True to the past Divine Night for Holiday 2013 is classy to last years vintage with it’s black, white and gold themed packaging.
From this rather large collection I have three particularly beautiful items to share with you today in Captivating Mineralize Eye Shadow, Stares & Speculation Fluidline and You’ve Got It Lipstick.
(L-R: Stares & Speculation Fluidline, Captivating Mineralize Eye Shadow swatched dry then wet, You’ve Got It Lipstick)
Captivating Mineralize Eye Shadow ($23.00) is described as having a bright white gold base/deep gold. These shades are faded and light to look at when used dry, so I find that this particular formula works best when used wet or over a deeply colored primer. When used over the primer they look stunning and metallic, lasting all day long.
Stares & Speculation Fluidline ($17.50) is described as a dirty olive with gold pearl. I love a good Fluidline and this one is one of my favorites from MAC. Not only does it make for a fabulous liner but it’s also an excellent base color for your holiday eye shadows. I found that this liner went on smoothly and evenly, lasting all day without smudging or fading.
You’ve Got It Lipstick ($16.50) is described as a pink undertone with gold frost. This shade is definitely a little garish when worn alone (see below) but when you layer a gloss over-top (any gloss) it can show itself as neutral or holiday party ready. This is basically the lipstick that’s down for whatever. It’s a frost finish, so exfoliate those lips or it will exaggerate the dryness.
For the EOTD below I smudged Stares & Speculation Fluidline all over my lid and through the crease to act as a base for the eye shadow. The gold side of Captivating Mineralize Eye Shadow is pressed on top of Stares & Speculation Fluidline and the white gold is dusted at the inner corners of the eye and also from crease to brow. The liner is Stares & Speculation Fluidline and the mascara is MAC Plushlash and MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash layered.
This collection also happens to include the Power Kohls. It’s the same shades released every year, but I always stock up on Orpheus when this happens. It’s an HG for me and I can never have enough back ups!
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
The MAC Divine Night Collection is available at your local MAC counter (Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s) or store as well as online at maccosmetics.com. The items featured in this post are listed as limited edition.

Oooo that eyeshadow looks pretty but I would probably only use it on the brow bone for highlighting.

The gold eyeshadow is gorgeous. I agree w/ frost-finish lippy. I’m not a fan because it looks dated to me.
