The Fall 2013 Tom Ford Beauty line up just looked so gorgeous I couldn’t hold back any longer, I finally purchased eye shadows from the line! Of the two trios released this season I had my sights set on the She Wolf Ombre Eye Color palette – obviously for the taupe-ness of it all.
What Neiman Marcus says about Tom Ford Ombre Eye Color:
A monochromatic play of three contrasting textures creates a masterful effect: a sultry and sensual eye of stunning depth and dimension.
Ombré eye color is a palette of monochrome color in three textures and finishes that achieves this quintessential Tom Ford look by artfully shading and contouring the eyes with contrast and light.
(Tom Ford She Wolf Ombre Eye Color Trio swatched dry over no primer)
She Wolf is a beautiful trio of taupe-grey shades, that almost look like they are slightly khaki or slightly brown, depending on what lighting you’re looking at them in.
The formula on these shadows is everything I imagined it would be. Soft, pigmented and easy to blend. The only shade that didn’t give a whole lot of color on the eye was the sparkle shade on the end. It was basically just a wash of sheer, liquid looking gold on the eye. However, that shade added dimension to the entire look and made the eye stand out instead of looking too drab. If you really want these shades to get smokey wear them wet or over a dark base.
This trio lasted well throughout the day over a primer, but I did have some slight creasing at days end when I went to take my makeup off.
Now, the kicker. It’s got quite the hefty price tag for just three eye shadows. The colors are beautiful, the formula is fabulous, but the shades aren’t completely unique. You could absolutely get this look from other shades that are likely already in your stash. To justify the price a bit, this is definitely a trio that you could wear daily to work and also smoke it out for evening by deepening the color.
Below for the EOTD, I applied a layer of Urban Decay Primer Potion. The sparkle gold is at the inner corners and a bit at the brow bone, the middle shade is all over the lid and the deep brown shade is at the outer V and crease. The eye liner is Urban Decay Hustle 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in and the mascara is Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant.
Tom Ford Ombre Eye Color retails for $60.00 and is available at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. She Wolf is limited edition.

The first thing I thought when I saw the first picture was “Oh my that’s pretty!” What a gorgeous staple! I am a long time fan of everything Mr. Ford does. And even though his cosmetic line is super pricey, I can definitely see me using this eye shadow on the daily. Which totally justifies the price tag right? RIGHT? 🙂
Thanks for sharing! As always, your pictures are gorgeous and super helpful!
