A Smashbox Collection has never captured my attention or my heart like the Fall 2013 Fade to Black Collection has. I purchased three of the six items in Fade In Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette ($42.00), Cognac Be Legendary Lipstick ($20.00) and Black Gold Waterproof Shadow Liner ($22.00).
The Fade In Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette contains 7 x 0.22 oz eye shadows in: matte warm ivory, matte flesh, shimmery taupe, matte chocolate brown, khaki with golden shimmer, matte dark chocolate, black with gold pearl. It’s that perfect nude palette with a kick. The khaki is amazing for Fall and works in well with the other included shades. All of the shadows are soft so you need to watch that you aren’t getting some clumps on your brush (which can make for a mess on your face). I got a ton of compliments and questions about this when I wore it on my eyes, which of course makes me want to wear it all of the time lol The shadows blended easily and lasted the day.
In the eye look below I put the khaki all over the eye and the matte dark chocolate in the outer V (though it’s hard to tell in the photo). The shimmery taupe is in the crease and blended up with the warm ivory in the inner corners of the eye and to highlight. The liner is the Smashbox Black Gold Waterproof Shadow Liner and the mascara is Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant topped with Too Faced Better Than Sex.
The Cognac Be Legendary Lipstick is a warm raisin shade, which is usually my go-to for the Fall and Winter months. This shade is one that would be flattering on a wide range of skin tones. It’s opaque and moisturizing without being thick.
The Black Gold Waterproof Shadow Liner is simply drool-inducing. It’s got an olive tone to it, but appears more gold when worn. It glided on easily and didn’t budge all day.

The Smashbox Fade to Black Collection is available at Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, Macy’s and at smashbox.com. The collection is limited edition.

Drool inducing is a great word for that liner! Actually, you’ve sold me on all 3 pieces! 🙂

WOOOO! You need them. I’m picking up the other palette too, hopefully it’s still there when I go back!
