Marc Jacobs Beauty THE STARLET 204 Style Eye-Con No.7 – Plush Shadow Swatches, Review & EOTD

I really couldn’t be more impressed with the beauty line that has spawned from the mind of Marc Jacobs.  It hit my Sephora on Tuesday of last week and I’ve been in there THREE TIMES to play with and buy stuff.  I can’t get enough of it!

So far, my favorite item has been the Style Eye-Con No.7 – Plush Shadow in The Starlet.  I’m sure you’ll agree 😉

IMG_4225 IMG_4230What Sephora says about Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No.7 – Plush Shadow:

What it is:
A super skinny, sleek palette of seven eye shadows that harmoniously marry with a creamy, sumptuous finish.

What it does:
A super skinny and sleek design will instantly make these seven harmonized shadows become your eye essentials. Each palette of shimmery metallics, buttery mattes, and lustrous sheens are made with advanced pigments that allow true, instant color payoff, and long-lasting plush performance. Marc invites you to play and become your own Style Eye-Con.

This set contains:

– The Starlet 204: metallic muted lilac, metallic champagne pink, metallic dark copper brown, metallic bright copper, metallic gold, metallic bluish silver, metallic gunmetal gray.

IMG_4239 IMG_4241 IMG_4247 IMG_4255 IMG_4270IMG_4617Starlet basically houses all of my fave shades… bronze, brown, gold, taupe, silver, copper…. It’s kind of like Marc Jacobs dove into my mind and created my perfect palette.  If I died tomorrow, go right ahead and bury me with this one.

The shadows are vivid, feel soft, look pigmented, are perfectly blendable… just…. amazing.  You can create so many looks with this… sexy, sultry… day wear, night wear…. Color wise I wasn’t into any of the other palettes, but I bought another because this one gets 20 stars out of 10.

The packaging is a plastic shiny black case.  The look is sleek and slender & when you pop it open you’ve also got a mirror.  It comes with a pouch to store it in and keep the case from getting scratched up or dirty.

The only thing I don’t like about this particular product is that little sponge-tip applicator.  It’s cheap and it makes me think… WTF, Marc… WTF.  It serves no purpose, really, with this many shades of shadow and there is no holder for it… so therefore, if you don’t clean it every time and just toss it back in the bag it gets the inside of the bag dirty and full of shadow dust.  Which in turn, makes the palette look dirty the next time you pull it out.  I pitched it.  End rant.

On to the fun!  The EOTD!  As usual I primed the lid with Urban Decay Primer Potion and placed the taupe lilac shade (shade #1) all over the lid and through the crease.  The deep bronzey brown (shade #3) is at the outer V and I put a dash of the copper shade (shade #4) in the center of the lid.  I placed the dirty gold shade (shade #5) above the crease and used the champagne pink shade (shade #2) at the inner corners and to highlight.  The liner is Marc Jacobs Beauty Ro(cocoa) on the top and Marc Jacobs Beauty Intro(vert) on the bottom.  The mascara is Too Faced Better Than Sex.

IMG_4450The flash on the above pic really brought out the shimmer and tones, but if you’d like to see it in a natural outdoor light, check out the photo on Instagram.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No.7 – Plush Shadow retails for $59.00 and is available exclusively at Sephora.

This was the first one I bought – and today a new one arrived from Sephora. I couldn’t wait to get another palette. Your eye look is gorgeous. I’ll have to try that out. I bought Recocoa liner too but not that beautiful teal.

Thank you!! The teal is such a must have. I love that these liners will go on my waterline easily and stay put.
