The Kate Somerville skin care line houses some of my favorite and HG items for my face. Since I’ll basically do anything to ward off the appearance of lip lines where a needle isn’t involved, purchasing the Quench & Correct Plumping Gloss and Restorative Lip Treatment was a no-brainer for me.
What Sephora says about Kate Somerville Quench & Correct Plumping Gloss and Restorative Lip Treatment:
What it is:
A double-ended tube with a lip treatment that repairs and replenishes and a gloss that plumps. What it is formulated to do:
This dynamo duo performs double duty. One side, Correct Restorative Lip Treatment with Hydra8™, reduces the appearance of lip lines by stimulating collagen renewal and eliminating dryness. The other side, Quench Plumping Gloss, restores moisture and increases circulation for an instantly plumped, youthful look that’s bound to keep you beaming.
The treatment side kind of feels oily, but nice. It has a lot of slip and was ever so slightly gritty. As you rub your lips together the grit feeling disappears and you can feel your lips pulsing a bit.
The plumping lip gloss side has a bit thicker of a formula has a light peppermint scent. It’s very hydrating and also feels good without being goopy.
This product absolutely made my lips feel fabulous and look glossy (which makes them appear plump), but has one very major downfall… the brush side is totally ruined on it.
Yes, it was like that even after the first time I took it out of the tube. Now, I don’t know if they all look like this when you buy them (I sincerely hope not), but it definitely makes it hard to keep the product within the lip lines like it states to do. I think they’d be much better off replacing the brush with a doe-foot applicator, because it seems like other reviewers had the same problem.
Final verdict… I love Kate Somerville to death, but this is seriously just like a clear gloss with (thankfully) no sticky feeling. I’d rather go get a Wet N’ Wild clear gloss for $1.99 because it looks the same and also has the doe-foot applicator.
Have any of you tried this product? Please tell me yours wasn’t in the same condition.
Kate Somerville Quench & Correct Plumping Gloss and Restorative Lip Treatment retails for $29.00 and is available at Sephora, Nordstrom and katesomerville.com.

Nooo WTH? You really haven’t had much luck with your recent purchases, Brooke 🙁 This is unacceptable for a 29 bucks! I mean, you can’t use that brush. End of the story. I hope you’ll be able to get a refund!

IKR?! The Armani isn’t in store at Nordies yet so she ordered me a new one. The Kate was from Sephora and I have the receipt so I imagine it’ll be okay. ugh =( I think this is a sign I should be on a no buy for awhile hahaha
