The theme of the July Birchbox is Power Play. With that in mind, the character’s of the USA hit series SUITS were the inspiration for some of the samples this month. There was also an included card with “Lesson’s From the Ladies of Suits” showing their looks and power products.
As you open the box the card resting on top gives you a little explanation and greeting on one side and a run down of what is in your box on the other side.
Let’s see what’s going on for July!
First, from Kerastase, the Fondant Chroma Captive – Treat. This is for color treated hair (which is perfect because I just had my highlights re-done) and is for shine intensifying care. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m definitely excited to give it a go.
Next, from ModelCo, the Fibre LashXtend Lengthening Mascara. This mascara was nice to apply and gives a nice, natural lash look. I didn’t think that it really lengthened or extended the lashes, but it was okay. I’m wearing it in the pic below, but you can see it in action better on this post.
From theBalm, InStain Long-Wearing Powder Staining Blush. This blush is amazing. The color is that slightly sunburned look that no one wants from the sun but that makes you look healthy. It doesn’t move once it’s on so you need to be extremely careful when applying, because this is one pigmented powder.
The “Suits Pick” is the Benta Berry G-1 Moisturizing Face Cream. Again, as with most skincare received in samples boxes such as these, it’s too small of a tube to discuss actual benefits. However, it smells amazing and absorbed well, leaving my skin feeling soft.
The “Beauty Extra” is a pair of Birchbox Bobby Pins. If you buy them they come in a set of 6. These are really cute and hold my hair back like no other. But they’re a little hard to put in and you’re going to pull out a few strands of hair when you remove them.
This Birchbox made me rather happy.…enough to keep my subscription going into August. It’s hard when ipsy is really pulling out all the stops with their Glam Bag, which is making Birchbox (what was once my favorite $10 subscription) seem kind of junky.
Wanna sign up for Birchbox? (Click for referral) If you like what you see go to the website and fill out the form. It’s just $10 a month (free shipping too!) and you get some cool stuff, tho I will warn you, you’re going to get stuff you hate as well.
***Disclosure – I buy my own Birchbox, but the links posted here do give me referral points which I can use towards product on the site. Once you sign up for your own Birchbox, you’ll also get a referral code to send out to others and get some points of your own!

I had the Model Co mascara in a Birchbox but it never worked for me. But I liked having the chance to know that without buying it.
The only craving I’d have from your box is theBalm stain since I’m anxious to try those.
