Open letter to ipsy, I love you because you give me oodles of goodies for ten bucks. Love you long time. Infinity times infinity. Keep this up and no one in their right mind would cancel. Anyways….
The theme for the July 2013 ipsy Glam Bag is Beach Beauty.
What you see above is a clear, neon pink plastic cylindrical makeup bag. Probably not a makeup bag I’d buy, but I appreciate the new type of shape and clear bags are the “thing” now. Plastic is much better for a pool bag anyway since it will repel water rather than soak it in.
The card is basically there to give you the run down of what is in your bag and the discounts you can get by visiting the Glam Room on ipsy.com. There are quite a few this month, which is exciting!
What’s inside?
From Big Sexy Hair, Weather Proof Humidity Resistant Spray. This product works to set your hair style against humidity and keep it looking like it did right after you styled it. The reviews look good, so I’m excited to give this a whirl, as my hair is very defiant towards any sort of styling.
From Nailtini, Nail Lacquer in Mai Tai. Love this shade hot coral for Summer, it’s truly that perfect beach shade. Below is two coats.
From Coola, Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented Moisturizer. Well, the biggest thing I love about the Glam Bag is the lack of skincare samples. However, I can’t complain too much about this one, because we all need SPF and the small tube is great for keeping in my makeup bag. You only need a small amount and it absorbs quickly, but there is a paste like odor to it and it felt slightly sticky on my skin.
From BH Cosmetics, California Collection Eyeshadow. This was actually intriguing. I’d heard of BH Cosmetics and seen their insanely huge palettes, but never made the move to purchase and test the quality myself. I found the formula to be dry, especially on Hollywood and San Francisco (Pink Sith actually drew little faces to represent the quality of each shadow, I die). Just not impressed with this one.
From Pop Beauty, Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush. Three different shades went out to Glam subscribers and I received a pretty, bright pink with a slight hint of coral. This was glossy and creamy. My fave part of this months bag!
For having referrals, ipsy included this Nicole by OPI Nail Polish in Pretty in Plum (Selena Gomez Collection, January 2013). I already own this one, you can click the provided link to see swatches, so this will remain unused and go into a giveaway at some point. Supposedly referrals granted an UD shadow or this really cute bracelet… but a nail polish is just as lovely of a surprise!
Definitely worth the $10 and then some. I am absolutely in for August since the value from ipsy remains fabulous and keeps getting better and better!
Ipsy does profile pages now, so here is mine. And now they finally are offering a referral program, basically refer two friends get an UD shadow and a BaubleBar bracelet for free in your next bag (or, apparently a NOPI polish?!). Soooo go sign up because you’re missing out!
Here is where you can go to subscribe to ipsy for a Glam Bag.
What do you think about the July Glam Bag? Are you going to subscribe for August? I know I’m looking forward to my next bag!
