Of the four single eyeshadows released in the NARS Fall 2013 Collection, Yamal is the only one that is limited edition. If this one shadow is any indication of the other three, I’ll be doing some serious shopping very soon.
Yamal (maple sugar) is a matte light brown with excellent pigment. Application was smooth and easy, and the color was even and buildable. It’s stunning simplicity makes it a must have for all of your eye looks, within any season.
In the EOTD below, I began by applying a thin layer of Urban Decay Primer Potion. Dior Mono Eyeshadow in Gris Montaigne is all over the lid and Yamal is in the crease and blended upwards. NARS Edie Single Eyeshadow was used to highlight. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Sabbath was used as a liner with Dior Gris Montaigne dusted lightly over top. The mascara is MAC Plushlash.
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
The NARS Single Eyeshadow retails for $24.00 and is available now at narscosmetics.com. You can also look for it at a later date at retailers like Sephora, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and Saks Fifth Ave. Yamal is limited edition.
This color is beautiful and is going on my shopping list now! Do you know what the other 3 colors are?
Yes, the other three are not limited edition and you can see pics in the Press Release. I definitely want the navy and teal!
This is a gorgeous polish!

I feel like, for a lot of people, Yamal is going to be considered boring, but I really love it! I really appreciate well-done neutrals like this. I’m glad it’s up to NARS’ usual quality too.
I agree with you. I thought it would be such a fail but I love how well it applied and it’s absolutely a shade that I would reach for daily!
