Makeup Wars – Our Favorite Complexion Helpers featuring Etude House!

I’ve continuously sung the praises of my favorite face primer/tinted skin enhancer Miracle Skin Transformer, but for this Makeup Wars post on Our Favorite Complexion Helpers I wanted to give a nod to where it all started – Asian Beauty.

Etude House is known for their adorable packaging, but beyond that the quality of their products is hands down amazing – which is why the CC Cream & BB Cream are at the top of my list of faves.

IMG_0419 IMG_0423 IMG_0426 IMG_0429The CC Cream Glow – Correct & Care – is terrifyingly white.  But.  It blends well.  You have to work fast once this is on your skin because it seems to adhere and absorb rather quickly.  You’re to apply generously, but I noticed on my tone if I applied too much I turned ghostly.  I’ve found it’s best to work on applying and blending one area at a time and then as you add the BB Cream over-top it will smooth, blend and even out.  The formula swatched below is in Glow, but there is also one called Silky.

Not only is this CC Cream SPF 30/PA+++ but it also has 8-in-1 Multi-Function benefits such as Anti-Aging, Stress Relief, Hydration, Whitening, Sun Protection, Tone-Up, Smooth Texture and Luminosity.  Not sure how a CC Cream can aid in stress relief but at this point I’ll try anything lmao.  In any event, I found that this really does help to conceal and hopefully with continued use I’ll see some correction in any markings on my face.

IMG_0435The Precious Mineral BB Cream Cotton Fit is also SPF 30/PA+++ and works at whitening, anti-darkening and anti-wrinkle.  The shade swatched above is in Natural Beige W13, which is perfect for the coloring that I am now and helped to tone down the whitening effect the CC Cream gave off.  It was easy to smooth on and blend with fingertips, though you could also use your favorite brush (such as the Sigma F80 or IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush).

I found this BB Cream to be on the sheerer side of coverage, but worked well in conjunction with the CC Cream.  For these hot Summer months it’s perfectly lightweight if you just want a minor amount of makeup on to look that much more flawless and polished.

You can purchase Etude House CC Cream at KollenctionK for $15.60 & BB Cream at KollectionK for $17.39.

I’m really excited to see what the other ladies came up with!  My shopping list is always a mile long after we do these Makeup Wars posts!  Let me know what your fave complexion helper it so I can add it to my list!

Wow, these sound good. I’ve never even heard of the brand. But if you are going to do BB Creams, you might as well do it with an Asian brand because they are just so much better than what we have here.

Why a BB cream on top of the CC? shouldn’t one be enough?

The BB Cream just adds more coverage. I have remnants of hormonal acne that is still clearing away (it seems to take forever, but it’s happening, slowly but surely!) so I need more coverage than what CC cream has to offer. This CC also Carries more skin care effects than the BB. Since I’m in my 30’s the more skincare the merrier since I’m terrified of needles/knives/surgeries. Skin care is basically my only anti-aging hope!
