Dior GREGE, PANAMA, VELVET, CHOC CLAIR Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow Swatches, Review & EOTD

The “new” Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows have been around awhile.  I actually ordered these a few months ago, had all of the photos taken and then got slammed with Summer launches.  I was so geared up for these shadows, too!  I love them to pieces and now I feel like the evil step-parent.

Anyway, clearly they’re still available so don’t flame me too much 😉 I picked up four of the shadows in Grege, Panama, Velvet and Choc Clair.

1What Nordstrom says about Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow:

A flawless wash of color in sensual matte or iridescent shades. New Diorshow Mono eyeshadows boast a unique wet/dry formula for a custom and professional finish. Sweep shadow across the eyelid with a dry brush for a subtle, sophisticated look. For a bolder statement, wet your brush before application.

Grege is a matte beige shade.  Excellent for blending out the crease or even a day time all over lid shade.

Panama is a matte chocolate shade, the best pigment of the four here.  That perfect neutral that works no matter how or where you use it.

Velvet is a shimmery eggplant that didn’t impress me when I swatched it, but it worked so well on the eye it was almost as if it was another shadow altogether.  Working on the eye is what counts, so it’s a love for me!

Choc Clair is a technically listed as a matte but doesn’t wear or swatch as flat as you’d imagine.  It’s a nice taupe wash of color.

What is nice about the matte shades in this grouping is that they aren’t chalky or dry.  They offer a light pigment, which can be deepened when used wet.  The new mono eyeshadows apply and blend seamlessly with little to no effort and stayed the day over top of my HG eye primer base.

For this EOTD I began by applying a thin layer of Urban Decay Primer Potion.  Choc Clair is all over the lid, Panama in the crease, Velvet in the outer V and Grege to blend out the crease and up to the brow.  The liner is Neutrogena Spiced Chocolate (top) and Urban Decay Chaos 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (bottom).  The mascara is Neutrogena Healthy Volume.

diorDior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows retail for $29.00 each and are available at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Macy’s, Sephora, Saks Fifth Ave and dior.com.

I got the recommendation of Grege as a good wash of color shade, but I didn’t have the chance to see it till now. I’m not sure it could work for me, since my lids are slightly darker than the rest of my face (like “natural” eyeshadows), but could be used as a brow bone shade I think. Thanks a lot for sharing!!!

You’re welcome! If you use it wet you’ll get a deeper color, but all around it’s a versatile neutral. =)

I just bought Velvet and one other but haven’t had time to swatch or wear. I know the artist that sold them to me and she adores Velvet which is what sold me. The colors on your eye are my favorite go to shades.
