For Spring 2013 Stila has released a new sort of eye shadow palette, available in six shades – the Stay All Day 3D Wet-To-Set Eyeshadow Trio. I purchased three of them (I couldn’t decide!) but this post will be focusing on First Light. Be sure to check out my previous reviews of Skyline and Desert Sunset.
What Ulta says about the Stila Stay All Day 3D Wet-To-Set Eyeshadow Trio:
This high performance, velvety shadow creates unique, luxe finishes on your lid when combined with the water on your brush. A first of its kind, this revolutionary formula delivers excellent payoff that is ultra-long wearing and stays all day.
While the shades are pretty and I do like the EOTD created below, First Light was probably my least favorite out of the three trio’s that I purchased (and by looking at the shades in the pan and swatches I thought it would be the fave!). The texture just seemed more dry and harder to work with. When used wet, they’re obviously more saturated, but that also means your eye look will be more accentuated.
The packaging is small, just a little square, but made of durable plastic. Each strip of color is big enough for you to get your brush into and the compact shape makes it easy to store.
After a full day of wear (a rather hot day, I might add) there was some slight creasing, even with a primer.
For the EOTD look below I began by using UDPP as a base. Taking the First Light trio I applied the mauve shade all over the lid, the maroon brown to the crease and outer V and used the glittery ivory peach shade for the inner corners and to highlight. The eye liner is Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Black and the mascara is Neutrogena Healthy Volume.
