Some quick and affordable Summer Essentials from NYX Cosmetics! These five products will hook you up with a hot, beachy glow that you can wear anywhere during the sweltering months of Summer… and… okay… really any other time too.
Tango With Bronzing Powder in Tan Enthusiasm ($10.00) has four strips of color to give your cheeks a luminous glow. Below, in the face pic, I wore all of the shades blended. It’s a nice and light color on my NW20-25 skin tone. Darker skin tones might like this better as a highlighter, but lighter skin tones will love it for a bronzed glow. You can also concentrate your brush on the two middle shades for a bit more pigment and then use the outer shades to highlight. The compact also features a built in brush and mirror. If Tan Enthusiasm isn’t for you there are four other shades to choose from.
The Wonder Pencil in Medium ($4.50 which I reviewed here) is your can-do-everything pencil. It’s perfect for concealing spots, a lip liner (to prevent vampy colors from bleeding or fading) and especially for brightening the waterline to look more awake. Three, matte shades are available in light, medium (shown) and dark.
Matte Finish Fini Mat ($8.00) is a setting spray to aid makeup in staying put. Make sure you shake before using so that you get the correct mix on your face, I’ve found it doesn’t work as well if you forget to shake. If the matte finish isn’t your style there is also a Dewy Finish available.
Butter Gloss ($5.00) shown in 6 Peach Cobbler & 10 Cherry Cheese Cake, is available in 12 shades. This gloss is so juicy looking with a very light scent and very little to no stick. The sponge tip applicator makes application a breeze and the gloss hangs out for about 3 hours. I was a little timid of the vibrant shades but pigment wise they actually wear more medium. I have Cherry Cheese Cake on in the face photo at the bottom of this post.

Oooh, the Cherry Cheese Cake gloss came out great. Looking at the swatches, I thought it’s too bright.

I’ve been monitoring the site for two months to purchase the Wonder Pencil as it was always sold out. I finally contacted NYX and they said they wouldn’t have it back in stock until after August 26, as their inventory went to retail first.
Forced to buy Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude instead.
How do you like the Rimmel? Ulta carries NYX and for some reason the grocery store does too lol IDK where you’re from but if it happens to be the Pittsburgh area Giant Eagle has them!
