Dior Summer collections are always so vibrant and fun. They take color that under normal circumstances might make you feel timid and turn it into something lovely and wearable. Something beach ready, but that can also be worn out on a hot steamy night.
With that said, here is the Dior 5 Couleurs Haute Couture Eyeshadow Palette in Peacock 434, which is Limited Edition to the Summer 2013 Bird of Paradise Collection.
What the Nordstrom website says about the Dior 5 Couleurs Haute Couture Eyeshadow Palette:
Dior’s best-selling eye palette offers endless possibilities in a seductive range of rich, versatile colors designed for easy application and long wear. Beauty tip: Use the oval wand to apply the lightest shade to the upper part of the inner eyelid, then blend the darkest shade along the lash line. Shade the outer brow with one of the remaining colors. For more intensity, use a fourth color under the lashes.
Peacock is a mix of greens and blues from each end of their respective color spectrums. The formula is classic Dior. Buttery smooth and easy to blend. The shades are housed in the usual blue mirrored compact with the velvet pouch.
The shades are swatched above dry, with no primer. Instead of using my finger I used the included sponge tipped applicators and believe I got a decent amount of color with just one pass (though I pressed the applicators into the shadows rather well). While I wouldn’t call the shades deeply pigmented (I really had to layer that smokey blue green shade on my outer V) they are still pigmented enough to make a statement without over-doing it. If you’re timid with color, this is a great palette for you this Summer.
For this EOTD I started off with a thin layer of UDPP. The sheer yellowed ivory shade is in the inner corners of the eye, while the sheer yellow green shade is on the lid. The golden olive shade is in the crease and blended up and I used the blue-green shade for the outer V and under the lower outer third of the eye. The sky blue shade was used to blend out the crease and highlight. The liner is MAC Mystery Kohl Power with the blue-green shade from the Dior palette over top and the Mascara is Chanel Le Volume.
Dior Peacock 5 Couleurs Haute Couture Eyeshadow Palette retails for $60.00. The Summer 2013 Bird of Paradise Collection will be available for a limited time at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, Bergdorf Goodman, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and dior.com.
