Nicole by OPI Kellogg’s Special K Nail Polish Swatches & Review

March 28, 2013

Press Sample

IMG_9857This April, Nicole by OPI is partnering with Kellogg’s Special K and releasing three custom shades with the purchase of specially marked boxes of Special K products.  The idea is to go about “encouraging women to show off your confidence with color”.

Pros & Confidence

IMG_0178Pros & Confidence is a hot pink cream.  The formula was lovely and opaque in 2 coats.

Challenge Red-y

IMG_0192Challenge Red-y is is a true red cream.  The formula was amazing and was ready to go in one coat!

Be Ama-Zing!

IMG_0194Be Ama-Zing! is a fabulous turquoise cream and nearly opaque in one coat.  Once again, amazing formula.  Two coats of polish were used in the photo.

While these shades aren’t unique in terms of color, you still might want to snatch them up as the availability is only “while supplies last” and to a lacquer lover they’ll be considered collectible.   However, the way you go about acquiring them might make them difficult to own.  How do you own these?  Eat some cereal!  Special K, to be exact.

With the purchase of three eligible Special K products, consumers will receive the shade Challenge Red-y. After submitting the purchase codes from eight eligible Special K products, consumers will receive all three lacquers – Challenge Red-y, Pros & Confidence and Be Ama-Zing!

So, technically, let’s say a box of Special K is $4 and you need 8 for all three lacquers… you’re spending $32 for all three polishes and a lot of cereal (or other marked Special K product).  Tip: Clip some coupons and save some bucks and watch for local supermarket deals.

For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
