Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Palettes have always been of interest to me. And I mean for more reasons than being a beauty blogger. They just always look so pretty, and I’ve long enjoyed the quality of most of the cosmetics distributed by Estée Lauder.
Since these palettes came onto the scene I’ve been meaning to purchase, but time and money just get away from you sometimes. With the release of their Summer 2013 Collection, I could wait no longer. Batik Sun Pure Color Eyeshadow Palette had to be mine.
What the Nordstrom website says about the Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Palette:
Eyeshadow that makes eyes come alive. Versatile color palette allows you to play with intensities, mix and blend shades, express different attitudes—soft to bold. Holds five varying color intensities and finishes: matte, satin, shimmer or metallic. The highlighter is the magic touch. Use it to brighten the look and widen eyes instantly. The deepest shade structures and defines the eyes.
True Visionâ„¢ color: Maximized color impact. Magnified vibrancy, clarity and dimension. Amplified brilliance.
High-performance wear: Color adheres velvety-smooth, without creasing. Blends easily. Long-wearing. Stays color-true. Won’t fade.
Sleek compact includes applicator and mirror.
Batik Sun is certainly fit for Summer with it’s shimmering golden hues and pops of vibrant color. All of the shades except the teal had perfect pigmentation and blended so well! I had trouble with the teal and getting the color as saturated as I expected it to be. It was nice to blend, but the formula of the color wasn’t a win.
All in all, I loved how the shades worked together and seemed to balance each other out. Estée Lauder has gained another huge fan of their Pure Color Eyeshadow Palettes and I can’t wait to get my hands on some more!
For the EOTD I began with a thin layer of UDPP. I applied the orange shade all over the lid and the chocolate brown at the outer V. The gold shade was used at the inner corners and the teal shade was used in the crease blended upwards. I also used the teal shade smudged below the lower eyeliner. The eyeliner used is the Neutrogena Nouishing Eye Liner in Spiced Chocolate and the mascara is Neutrogena Healthy Volume.
The Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Palette retails for $48.00 and is available at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s and Bloomingdales.
