Last month I posted about the Urban Decay The Theodora Palette from the Disney’s OZ the Great and Powerful launch, going on about how it was more “me” and more my first choice so I chose it over Glinda… but still with the intention of purchasing Glinda… blah blah. Okay, so I think Glinda may just be more “me”.
What the Sephora website says about the Urban Decay Glinda Palette:
What it is:
One of two gorgeous limited-edition palettes inspired by the Disney movie “Oz the Great and Powerful.”What it does:
Inspired by the Disney film’s theme of good witch vs. bad witch (and the good witch/bad witch dichotomy in all of us), Urban Decay created two collectible palettes loaded with beautiful, never-before-seen shades. Recreate Glinda’s ethereal, spellbinding look with eight all new and exclusive eye shadows in six pans (this set includes two duo-shades that are split in half, with a different color on each side of the pan). Every shade features Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power, and blendability. This set contains:
– 6 x 0.05 oz Eyeshadow in Tornado (vibrant deep purple shimmer), Aura (iridescent white with blue shift and iridescent white with red shift), Magic (pinkish purple with golden shimmer), Illusion (pale peach satin), Oz (gold with gold glitter and silver with silver glitter), South (warm pale gray shimmer with silver micro-glitter)
– 0.03 oz 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Rockstar (deep eggplant)
– 0.1 oz Super-Saturated High Gloss Color in Glinda (light sheer nude)
– A card with step-by-step instructions on how to get Glinda’s look from the filmWhat else you need to know:
The Glinda Palette incorporates Urban Decay’s Build Your Own Palette format for total versatility. When you finish the original shades (or whenever you get the urge to experiment), just pop them out and pop your favorite UD shadows into the cool collectible tin. It features a dreamy, celestial design awash in a sheer backdrop of pink, gold, and peach, with Urban Decay and the name of the film in foil lettering.
(L-R: Tornado, Aura (mixed), Magic, Illusion, Oz (separately), South, Rockstar liner, Glinda SSHGLC)
Glinda is the lovely to Theodora’s sultry. The soft and wearable purples and metallic shades seem to glimmer and look magical. The items in Glinda (with the exception of the liner) are exclusive to the set.
The packaging style is that awesome combination of Urban Decay and OZ, but this time the palette is refillable! So, if you’re traveling, you can switch out shades! Or, if you run out, you can replace with another color!
The shadows are soft and so ridiculously pigmented. Blending is easy no matter what shades you’re using and I experienced no fall out with any of them. Above I accidentally swatched Aura blended because they looked so similar that it slipped my mind it was a duo. One side is more violent toned and the other side is more rose toned, but you’ll get the general idea 😉
The Super-Saturated High-Gloss Lip Color is quickly becoming one of my favorite products. It goes on as pigmented as a lipstick but with the high shine of a gloss. It’s simple to line evenly and quick to color in. This particular shade, Glinda, is a cool pinked rose that has already found a home in my HG bag.
For a coordinating liner, Urban Decay has also included a mini 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Rockstar. This is the perfect shade for this palette and will work with all included shadows.
Also included in this palette is a card with a Michelle Williams as Glinda ‘Get the Look’.
In addition to not being Mila Kunis I’m also not Michelle Williams, however I had to try the look that Urban Decay included with this set. Other products used are Urban Decay Primer Potion, MAC Plushlash Mascara, Anastasia Brunette Beauty Express for Brows & Eyes, L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream, Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation, Chanel Blush Horizon de Chanel, Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder.
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
The Urban Decay Glinda Palette retails for $49.00 and is available at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s and urbandecay.com. This palette is limited edition.
