NARS And God Created the Woman Set Swatches, Review & EOTD – Spring Gifting

January 31, 2013

As part of Spring Gifting 2013, NARS released what is arguably their most wearable and most fabulously named palette – And God Created the Woman.  Not only is this a palette, but it’s a SET, so you are getting six shadows, a mini Smudge-Proof Eyeshadow Primer and a small #3 Eyeshadow Brush.  Because when something is named after a woman, it’s decked out to the 9’s.  Obviously.

100What the Sephora website says about the NARS And God Created the Woman Set:

What it is:
An eye shadow kit with six sultry shades, a travel-size Eye Shader Brush, and a medium Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base.

What it does:
Captivating and compelling, this palette of six shimmering shadows shows off your sultry side. Created exclusively for Sephora, this sleek, travel-ready set also includes a mini Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base and Eye Shader Brush.

This set contains:
– 6 x 0.03 oz Eye Shades in Alhambra, Bellisima, Kalahari, Galapagos, Coconut Grove, Night Clubbing
– 0.09 oz Pro-Prime™ Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
– #3 Eyeshadow Brush

101 102 104 110 118 125 136If you love NARS Eyeshadows or are just wanting to branch out into using NARS Eyeshadows the And God Created the Woman Set is 100% something that you need.

The mini Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base will hold your shadows like iron and the brush is of great quality.  The six NARS shadows are all fabulous and are my favorite parts of some of the duos (Alhambra, Bellisima, Kalahari) and also some awesome singles (Galapagos, Coconut Grove, Night Clubbing).  Even if you already have one or two shades, this palette is very travel friendly and sturdy.  Perfect for keeping in your purse or desk to take your work eye look and morph it into something more happy hour worthy!

To create this EOTD, I started off applying the included NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.  Using the NARS #3 Shadow Brush I applied Kalahari (1) all over the lid.  Using a blending brush I picked up some of Galapagos and applied it through the crease, blending up.  Night Clubbing was placed at the outer V and blended inward.  Alhambra (I) was used at the inner corner of the eye and to highlight.  The eye liner is MAC Teddy Eye Kohl and the mascara is Pop Beauty Peak Performance Mascara in Brilliant Black.

The NARS And God Created The Woman Set retails for $59.00 ($105.00 value) and is exclusive to Sephora and sephora.com

Galapagos is for down eyelid. Coconut Grove make me look like lack of sleep.

I really wish I hadn’t just picked up both the Alhambra and Kalahari duos. This looks like one amazing set!

I want this so badly! I would use every shade, which never happens in a palette, and could do many different looks with this. I will be getting this or the Too Faced Boudior palette this week. Which one do you prefer?

I haven’t checked out the one from Too Faced yet, but it’s on my list to pick up the next time I am at the mall! I think the TF looks a bit more shimmery and the colors more fun than sultry. That assessment is just based off of pics, since I haven’t seen it in person yet!
