OPI has released a fabulous new mini-collection partnered with superstar Mariah Carey! Mariah Carey by OPI features eight new and limited edition shades of nail lacquer, four of which are Liquid Sand™ lacquers featuring groundbreaking technology for a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle.
First, the four regular formula shades:
A Butterfly Moment
A Butterfly Moment is described as a frosty tan nude. It’s more of a frosty pink with golden shimmer. I am insanely in love with this polish. I mean, to me, it’s perfect. Two coats were used for the swatch photo.
Pink Yet Lavender
Pink Yet Lavender is described as a pink glitter with lavender shimmer. This polish has a clear base with large pink hex glitter and small holo glitter. One coat was used over A Butterfly Moment.
Sprung
Sprung is described as a shimmery copper. This is a metallic copper loaded with gold and pink sparkles. It’s on the sheer side so I needed three coats for full opacity.
Anti-Bleak
Anti-Bleak is described as a deep, creamy purple. This plum polish is refined, polishes evenly and is opaque in two coats.
It’s said that the Liquid Sand Nail Lacquers should always be worn without a top coat, but I swatched one finger (middle) with a top coat just so you could see what it looks like. Just to let you know in advance, I love every single one of these Liquid Sand Nail Lacquers. I thought it would gross me out to feel and see grit on my nails, but they are freakishly cool!
Get Your Number
Get Your Number is described as matte blue with sparkles. It’s an ocean blue base loaded up with silver and holo sparkle. You’re likely not going to find another drool-worthy polish that will even come close to this one. Two coats were used in the photo.
Can’t Let Go
Can’t Let Go is described as a matte purple with dazzling sparkle. With the top coat you can see a bit on indigo blue sparkles. Two coats were used in the photo.
Stay the Night
Stay the Night is described as matte black with red glints. In person, it looks more like a blackened eggplant shade with red glitter. I used two coats in the photo.
The Impossible
The Impossible is described as a matte fuchsia with star confetti. On me it swatched more red, with lots of small glitter as well as a smattering of hex glitters and star glitter. Simply put, the color and flash of this polish is stunning. The stars were mostly at the bottom, and even when I shook the bottle I found it difficult to get them on the brush. I used two coats for the photo.
TIP: For the Liquid Sand Nail Lacquers, make sure each coat dries down completely before you add the next coat (you’ll be able to tell because it will look grainy and matte).
Must haves from this collection are A Butterfly Moment, Stay the Night and The Impossible…. You know…. for the first time in a long time… you really, REALLY need this whole collection. Dead serious.

Can’t Let Go, Stay The Night, and The Impossible look awesome!! I actually really like Sprung too, but I always have trouble with sheer polishes. They always seem to chip when I put on more than two coats!
