Out of the two 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes that Dior released with their Spring 2013 Cherie Bow Collection, Rose Ballerine is the more subtle one.
What the Nordstrom website has to say about the ‘Cherie Bow’ 5 Couleurs Eye Palette:
Inspired by The House of Dior’s iconic symbol, the bow, this season’s look exudes femininity, sophistication and sensuality with a playful twist.
Dior’s best-selling eye palette offers endless possibilities in a seductive range of rich, versatile colors designed for easy application and long wear.
Beauty tip: Use the oval wand to apply the lightest shade to the upper part of the inner eyelid, then blend the darkest shade along the lash line. Shade the outer brow with one of the remaining colors. For more intensity, use a fourth color under the lashes.
Rose Ballerine is a very sheer quint of colors – a deep pink, a pale pink, an almost taupe-grey, a pale peachy pink and a glittery white.
The shades appear frosty, but they’re still very wearable. You’re not going to get a ton of pigment on your eyes (I used firm brushes to apply the eye look below) but the look is demure and very girlie. Perfect to wear with a bold pink lip for your ‘spring fling’.
The top left pink shade doesn’t show up as well as you’d imagine so I had to use a firm brush (MAC 219) to get some color. The same went for the grey shade… I used a MAC 239 and didn’t get as much color as I thought. However, if you’re in the market for a neutral and every day quad – this will be right up your alley.
In this EOTD, after applying UDPP,I used the top right pink shade all over the lid and the top left pink shade in the crease. I used the bottom left peachy shade to highlight and the bottom right grey shade in the outer V. I took the middle white shade and dabbed it at the inner corners of the eye. The liner is Chanel Gris Scintillant Le Crayon Yeux and the mascara is Neutrogena Healthy Volume.

Dior 5-Couleurs Cherie Bow Edition retails for $61.00 and is available at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Macy’s and dior.com.
I tried this in store, and the shades look too light and frosty for my skin tone. I have an olive type skin tone…I did see Shiseido’s spring collection…and their eye shadow have pink tones…which fits more to my skin color. Thank you for the review and swatches!! : )
You’re welcome!!!
Thanks Brooke! Now I have to have this palette too. The icy pinks are too beautiful.

You’ll love the shadows, they’re so easy to work with!
I love that taupe, but the other shades might be a bit too light for my skin tone!

They are light. A lot of other Dior shadows have a fabulous taupe so I know you can find something similar, if you don’t have it already! I’m seriously going to visit to play in your makeup!
