Because every eye look needs a bit of warm glimmer, NARS has launched the limited edition Corcovado Soft Touch Shadow Pencil ($24.00) within their Spring 2013 Color Collection.
What the NARS website has to say about the Soft Touch Shadow Pencil:
Soft Touch Shadow Pencils provide easy, portable, long-wearing application. These jumbo sized pencils have versatile functionality to shade the lid, line, or highlight the eye. Smooth, creamy texture delivers a smooth, velvety feel to the eye and make for easy blending and an ideal base for layering with a powder shadow for increased color intensity.

Corcovado is described as 24-karat gold. It definitely is that. When swatched heavily it’s a drool-worthy pop of goldenrod yellow.
I’ve found the best way to wear the Soft Touch Shadow Pencils is by applying a primer first (such as NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base or UDPP) and blend the color out, then add a shadow over top. The primer and shadow help the color to hold, and if you blend out the pencil rather than layer it on it won’t crease. It’s a soft formula, so if you just pack it on your lid it’s not going to be okay.
Below is Corcovado on it’s own smudged out with my finger (over UDPP). Tomorrow I’m posting the Mad Mad World Duo Eyeshadow used with this… for a sneak peek visit my Instagram!

The NARS 2013 Spring Collection is available beginning January 15th at narscosmetics.com. You’ll also be able to find this soon at Sephora.
