On the heels of my undying love for MAC Mountain Air Pro Longwear Eye Liner I ran right out to purchase three more in Rich Experience (true brown), Night Trail (deep navy blue) and Black Ice (rich black). This eye liner formula is available in five shades, but I passed on Snow Shadow because it just wasn’t a shade of purple that I thought I’d reach for often.
What the MAC website has to say about Pro Longwear Eye Liner:
Pro Longwear’s long-lasting eye liner delivers creamy, dense colour that glides on smoothly. 12-hour waterproof formula stays put and smudge-free. 5 g / 0.17 US oz
Whereas I was ga-ga for the formula on Mountain Air, these three didn’t waterline as well. They did the job, but didn’t adhere to the waterline anywhere near as well or as pigmented as Mountain Air did. As a top liner they all set quickly, lined smoothly and wore the day. Very nice, but I was disappointed on the whole waterline deal. Wonder what the difference is that makes Mountain Air work so well, and the others not so well? Thoughts?
Also, these pencils are incredibly soft. I barely pressed Black Ice and the entire tip broke off. At almost $20 a pop I’d rather not deal with that type of waste. Needless to say, these three left me sad, but I still got nothin’ but love for Mountain Air!
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner retails for $19.50 and can be purchased at your local MAC counter (Nordstrom, Macy’s), store, or online at maccosmetics.com.
