The latest in matte lip color comes to us from Giorgio Armani Beauty in the form of the Lip Maestro! Lip Maestro Intense Velvet Color has a velvety matte finish but looks like a lacquer. It’s available in 12 shades, but today I have my top pick to share with you – 201 (dark velvet).

This product, and the color in particular, is stunning. Hands down the shade I’ve been searching for this season. It applies easily and with great pigment. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last on me as long as similar products by Make Up For Ever and Yves Saint Laurent do. After eating/drinking the lip color is gone and I’m left with that dreaded ring around the lips line and a full reapplication is needed. Sometimes you can revive a bit of the color with a lip balm, but not in this case.
Of course, this product by Giorgio Armani isn’t touted for extreme long wear like the other brands, but it definitely would have been nice to have that or at least a full lip stain. Such a vampy color is high maintenance and I like to deal with as little upkeep as possible.
