Three Mattene Lipsticks were released with the recent cool toned mini-collection from MAC – Nocturnal Instincts, Seductive Intent and today’s post of Night Blooming.
What the MAC website has to say about Mattene Lipstick:
With its streamlined design, this new slimline lipcolour, features the traditional glamour properties of a matte lipstick – intense colour and semi-matte velvety finish – while offering a creamier, softer, more glide-on application. Non-caking, non drying. Moisturizing and incredibly wearable yet absolutely matte.

Night Blooming is described as a mid-tone blue pink. This lipstick is very vivid, and isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. In addition to being cool toned, you’re going to have to be confident in wearing bold colors to pull it off. It’s unbelievably pigmented and saturated, yet very easy to apply. For a matte lipstick, it’s more on the moisturizing side than the dry side. It leaves a very slight staining, but you will need to reapply after you eat or drink.
While Mattenes aren’t super dry, I particularly love to layer this one with Revenge is Sweet Lipglass, which was released with the same collection.
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
The MAC Taste Temptation Mattenes retail for $15.00 each and are available for a limited time at your local MAC counter (try Nordstrom) or store, as well as online at maccosmetics.com.
