In November, Nicole by OPI launched 7 new shades of polish exclusive to CVS – A Pinker Shade of Pale, Personally Speaking…, Always a Silver Lining, Don’t Overpink It, Feeling Grapeful, Marooned in Paradise and I Sea You and Raise You. These shades will represent the “new neutrals” and will complement the hottest shades for 2013.
A Pinker Shade of Pale is a metallic pale blush of cool pink, giving it a lilac tone. It was simple to apply but will show off some brushstrokes, though not as much as I thought once it dried. The formula was thin for me, so I used three coats for the photo.
Personally Speaking…
Personally Speaking… is a metallic rosy shimmer. This one painted on nicely like A Pinker Shade of Pale, but was a little thicker so only two coats were needed.
Always a Silver Lining
Always a Silver Lining is a silver metallic sprinkled with small gold glitters (you can’t see the gold glitter in my pics, but on my word it’s there!). The formula was nice to apply, but sheer. I used three coats in the photo.
Don’t Overpink It
Don’t Overpink It is a medium pink cream. Such a pretty and girly shade! After two coats I still had visible nail line, so I went for three coats which covered it for the most part.
Feeling Grapeful
Feeling Grapeful is a bright purple cream. I thought this shade was gorgeous and worked well with my skin tone. I used two coats for the photo.
Marooned in Paradise
Marooned in Paradise is a deep maroon with very subtle shimmer. It was a surprise, because it looked like a plain cream in the bottle, but ended up being fun on the nail! I used two thick coats for the swatch photos.
I Sea You and Raise You
I Sea You and Raise You is a cheerful cerulean blue cream. The formula was really great (the best out of the seven shades) and I only needed two coats for full opacity.
While the shades themselves aren’t really anything special, all of the polishes were great to apply and nice to own if you don’t already have something similar. My top picks are Always a Silver Lining, I Sea You and Raise You and Feeling Grapeful.
