MAC has gone the way of vintage in their holiday palettes this year, making the casing look like those plush cushions for your derriere π
Three eye kits were released as part of Holiday 2012 Fabulousness – 5 Neutral Eyes, 5 Smoky Eyes and today’s post of 5 Warm Eyes.
What the MAC website has to say about Fabulousness: 5 Warm Eyes Holiday Eye Kit:
A palette of five perfectly coordinated warm Eye Shadows that blend for glamorous holiday looks. Highly pigmented MβAβC formulas highlight and contour with buildable colour intensity. Satin-tufted compact with demure black patent bow accent.
5 Warm Eyes is a palette that contains five shades – L-R: Retrospeck, Glamourous Light, Honesty, Cognac and Sketch.
Retrospeck (bleached blonde, lustre) is hard to see up there in the swatch but is a fabulous shade to highlight with.Β Unfortunately, it’s a lustre finish, which is basically gritty and glittery and generally not a finish I’m fond of.Β This shade is part of the permanent collection.
Glamourous Light (pale eggshell with pink pearlized pigments, satin) is a shade that I love to put at the inner corners of the eye to make them appear wider and really pop.Β Even though this shade is a satin finish, it gives off a nice sheen and excellent pigment.
Honesty (pewtered bronze, lustre) provides decent pigment for a lustre.Β As I said before, I’m not fond of the finish, but Honesty has always been okay in my book!Β This shade is part of the permanent collection.
Cognac (frosty golden bronze, frost) is my absolute favorite shade out of this palette.Β It touts the best coloring and pigment out of the five and looks great alone or with the other shades.
Sketch (burgundy with red shimmer, velvet) is a beautiful eggplant purple shade.Β Because it’s a velvet finish, it’s really dry and I would have liked to have seen a similar shade in a veluxe pearl with this palette.Β This shade is part of the permanent collection.
With 3 of the 5 shades being a part of the permanent collection it’s really hard to justify this as a purchase, especially if you already own some or all of those three shades.Β If you don’t own the shades I would recommend this palette based on the trends of the season and the ease of using these shades together.Β I think the eye looks extremely festive and will be easily wearable for the warm toned beauty π
In the eye look below I used all five shades from Fabulousness: 5 Warm Eyes Holiday Eye Kit as well as MAC Orpheus Kohl Power and MAC Plushlash Mascara.
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
Purchase this and other items from the MAC Fabulousness at your local MAC counter (try Nordstrom) or store, as well as at maccosmetics.com.Β Fabulousness: 5 Warm Eyes Holiday Eye Kit is limited edition.
Beautiful colors and packaging! This is my favorite of Mac’s holiday collections!

Wow!!! Love the packaging for it looks classy and elegant. I also love the color for it looks light and natural. This is a great gift idea for this coming holiday season.
