Last Summer I signed up for the Julep Maven program. I ended up not renewing because I wasn’t impressed with the quality of the polishes at the time. Recently Julep approached me to review a Maven box so I thought… it’s been a year, let’s give it another go. Finding a navy one coat wonder makes me SO GLAD I DID!
The Maven Box that I chose is Boho Glam. This box included two nail polishes in Toni (dusty vintage lilac cream) and Michelle (navy cream), Essential Cuticle Oil, and two pots of glitter, one in blue and one in purple.
Toni only needed two coats for full opacity and Michelle was a one coater! I am much more impressed with the polish formula this time around, though it was slightly runny (nothing out of hand) and I had to be careful.
I ADORE the Julep Cuticle Oil. I adored it a year ago, as well. It’s in roller ball form and works perfectly.
The glitters are fine and ridiculously pretty. They are also messy. In the photo you can see the card where Julep suggests sprinkling over the nail and then using a top coat. I thought dipping my nail in the pot was a better idea and, as you can see from the hot mess below, it coated my nail completely lol then I tried to smudge it out and do a gradient. IDK. For my first attempt with glitter I’m a smidge proud. But I know all you nail aficionados out there are beating your heads off of the desk haha.
Clearly, I’m no artist and I also don’t play one on TV. Below is my “art” which I like to call Glitter Fail. I am DETERMINED to get the hang of glitter, because it’s GORGEOUS and I love to look blingy.
Don’t be too harsh! And, PLEASE share your glitter tips with me in the comments!
