For Holiday 2012 it seems like quite a few brands are releasing a Gold Leaf Top Coat. OPI’s addition to the trend conveniently coincides with their Bond-Inspired release of the Skyfall Collection.
The Man With the Golden Gun has real 18K Gold Leaf flakes suspended in a clear base. It’s a fantastic looking top coat for just about any polish. The clear base was a little thick, making it hard to get the flakies to sit and remain where I wanted them. So, be prepared to maneuver. Though, if you paid the retail price for this like I did, you must hard-core want it and a little messing around isn’t going to faze you.
The Man With the Golden Gun is shown over-top of the following nail polishes from the Skyfall Collection – (L-R) The Spy Who Loved Me, Casino Royale, Skyfall, and Tomorrow Never Dies.
For more information, please see the Official Press Release.
This limited edition promotion will be available beginning October 2012 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $30.00 ($37.50 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

Looks awesome! Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper alternative? I can’t bring myself to spend that much on a bottle of polish!

Sephora by OPI has a gold leaf top coat, and I believe it’s on sale now for $15! Zoya also makes one but it comes with two other shades, so you get 3 polishes for $30 =)
