Everyone loves a princess, especially a Disney Princess. So when a collection hits from ANY brand that is Disney Princess inspired we all go a little cray-cray.
This month, Sephora is launching a series of limited edition and seasonal beauty collections focusing on a specific Princess. They’re beginning this series with the girl that we all think of when you hear Disney Princess – Cinderella.
There are several items in this collection, and I purchased around half of them. I’m beginning with my favorite item – Midnight Hour Eye Shadow Palette. If we’re being honest, this wasn’t even on my radar until I saw it in person. I originally wanted the Storylook Eye Shadow Palette but it reminded me of the Urban Decay Vice Palette (which I’ve just bought and will be reviewing soon!) so I passed. But, it’s FATE, because I love this quad so much more than I thought!
What the Sephora website has to say about the Midnight Hour Eye Shadow Palette:
What it is:
A four-piece eye shadow palette with enchanting, smoky shades. What it does:
Reenact the drama and flash these whimsical shadows as the clock strikes twelve. Original artwork created by Disney brings the magic to life with an elegant screen print of the legendary countdown. Once opened, you’ll be swept away by the palette’s enchanting, smoky shades. The silky smooth formulas glide on effortlessly, providing a rich coat of color that blends and layers to create a stunning eye that lasts beyond the midnight hour. This set contains:
4 x 0.049 oz eye shadows in:
– Gray (grey pearl)
– White (pearl shimmer)
– Champagne (champagne nude)
– Sparkles (charcoal shimmer glitter)
Midnight Hour Eye Shadow Palette is a quad of shadows with shades of White, Champagne, Grey, and Charcoal (aka Sparkles).
I found this quad to be phenomenal in terms of pigment, texture, and application. Everything blended so well and made the eye look ethereal, like you’d imagine on Cinderella. My only gripe is that Sparkles (which I had in the outer V) faded as the day wore on. I experienced no fall out.
Be aware of the White shade, as it’s very soft and you need a VERY LITTLE bit to achieve what you want with it. I thought I used a bit but it hit my eye and screamed at me. I was able to take my finger and blend it around to where it looked good, so it’s an easy fix if you find that you’ve applied too much
For this EOTD I started off using UDPP as a base and added the Champagne shade all over the lid. I placed the Gray shade in the crease and Sparkles in the outer V. White was used in the inner corner and to highlight. The eye liner is Chanel Marine Le Crayon Kohl and Chanel Peche Cuivre Le Crayon Kohl on the outer area of the lower lash line. The mascara used was MAC Plushlash.
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
The Midnight Hour Eye Shadow Palette retails for $30.00 and is available exclusively at Sephora for a limited time.
