Right off I just want to admit I suck at nail art. I seriously can’t even work the Konad that well. When the idea for Makeup Wars Halloween Manicure came about I’m all.. “OMG time to TRY and be amazing & do some nail art, I can totally do this”. Nope. Luckily, a package arrived in the mail and inside lay my saviors – Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Patch-O-Lanterns and NYC Demon Glow Top Coat. (Yes, I literally just noticed that I photographed the non-English side of the SH box. Whoopsie!).
The Salon Effects are so perfect for holidays and special occasions when you really want a fun nail look, but completely stink at doing anything fanciful with your nails. They smooth on easily and actually LAST. Patch-O-Lanterns (aside from having the best name ever) features grinning pumpkin mouths and eyes in a sparkly orange and a black background. When you add on the NYC Demon Glow Top Coat your nails will glow under a black light. Be aware that Demon Glow will turn the black background of Patch-O-Lanterns purple, BUT you can’t tell in the flash photo.
And, for fun, I used Picasa to Demon out the mani. Creeperrrrr!

See what the other participants in this installment of Makeup Wars came up with! What WILL we think of next?!

I love it! Those jack-o-lanterns are so cute! I also love the way you applied these. Mine always look so screwed up. You rock this look! Plus I love the idea of a black light top coat. I might “need” this.

I just love the name of it. It makes me want to put it on everything lol
I’m impressed! I should have looked for Sally Hansen and I will if I’m forced to do this again! I love your “black light” picture – that is fascinating.

If we do a Holiday one I’m sure quite a few of us will turn to SH lol
Great minds think alike!! I used this SH strip for my accent nail and used the Demon Glow for my top coat, too.

It’s a great idea to use the Salon Effects for the accent nail. They’ll last a lot longer!! I’m going to try that next time for sure!
That turned out super cute!
