OMG you guys. This Birchbox had me dancing. To start off, the October 2012 Birchbox was a collaboration with goop.com. I’ve never heard of goop.com until now, but it’s a site that Birchbox considers their “go-to resource for lifestyle inspiration”. This months box is filled with products that goop feels are the best throughout the globe!
As you open the box, you’ll see that there lies a card much like all the other boxes. I miss the Fall Look Book dealio that was in the September Box!
Look! goop tissue paper! IDK why but this made me giggle lol
Under the goop paper we see what they have in store for us:
First, from Chantecaille (holy Moses!) a mini Brilliant Gloss. I have been DYING to try out the Chantecaille brand. I am so super happy right now. This could have been the only thing in my box and I’d have been okay with that. The gloss is very moisturizing, you can almost feel it sinking into your lips. No stick involved and extreme shine. This gloss is on the thick side and boasts a soft brush applicator. I have absolutely no idea what shade this is.
Next, from DDF, the Wrinkle Resist Pore Minimizer. I love the idea of something like this. Taking so many macro shots of your face really gets you involved in your pores. I’ll pretty much do whatever to make them non-existant. This is just a sample, so I can’t comment on how it would work for the long term, but it’s a slick gel that feels cool on the face and smells AMAZING. I’d love to get my hands on a full size.
Third, from Miracle Skin Transformer, SPF20 Face. This is an all-in-one primer, serum, and face tint – supposedly to give skin that flawless finish. Sounds good. Looks good. It’s SO good. I actually said “Holy, crap” out loud when I applied it. It provides a bit of coverage and smooths on nicely. I was sent the shade in Medium, which was spot on for my NW25, neutral tone. The product is available in 7 shades and I want to have its babies. Watch out for a full size review of this, I’m definitely purchasing.
Finally, from Orofulido, we have the Beauty Elixir. Basically this is your average argan oil hair treatment. I really need another of these like a hole in the head. It feels nice on and does the same things to your hair as other Argan Oils. It does smell very yum.
This box also contained a Lifestyle Extra from Luna. This snack is a goop fave. I’m not going to lie. Ever since I got (several times) the worlds nastiest Larabars, I’ve shied away from this health bar mess. The flavor I got was Lemon Zest. I like lemons. I even like zest (not the soap). And, this bar… it’s not half bad. Very tart, and thankfully not tasting like sawdust or cardboard. I wouldn’t go out and buy a whole box, but I’ll enjoy this one right here.

This is the reason why I am afraid of Birchboxes. I am afraid of getting undesirable items hahaha. I am afraid to gamble my money on items that may disappoint me. If I were to receive it for free, it is fine and i would not be scared to try lip glosses. I think they are safest things to try out.

I wish I had gotten your box! I had my fingers crossed for a sample Chantecaille product. I got Malin+Goetz Peppermint shampoo that I won’t use since the sample isn’t enough for my thick hair (I use it to wash makeup brushes!); Essie nail polish “Carry On,” and Supergoop City Sunscreen Serum, both of which I already have; Jouer Lip enhancer, and a Luna fiber bar.

I got a few different things in my goop-birchbox too.. Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, DDF Brightening Cleanser, per-fekt Beauty Lip Perfection Gel, Orofluido Beauty Elixir and Mighty Leaf Teas
I loved the goop box too. I didn’t receive the Chantecaille lip gloss but did get the Chantecaille mascara. I haven’t tried it yet but now I am anxious to. I will let you know what I think. The only item I have tried in my box so far was the luna bar and it was yummy. I will post my updates now that i am wanting to try the other items NOW! LOL
What Luna Bar did you get? I am dying to know about the mascara!
